It's Not All On The OL..Keep Telling You Guys

Nice job showing the only 2 plays in the whole game where he had time. My guess is that those two plays are the long bomb hurns dropped and the Lewis TD?

WoW thats a huge running lane how many yards did he run for on that play 20+??? oh hmm... yeah our running backs blow especially TOBY!!  Let Storm have a chance that way when they do start Bortles he'll have his old running back, back...

The old saying if you got a hand on it you shouldve caught it, but a few passes that were dropped Henne didnt lead the receiver correctly if you go back and watch the tape...  WRs had to wait or come back for balls...

Hurns catches that ball.... game completely changes.

Quote:its' mostly on Fisch and on Gerhart and Henne.

Chad Henne made several mistakes but he wasnt the sole reason we've been blown out the last two weeks even though thats what I keep reading by my fellow fans.  I'm not saying I'm pro- Henne either but to give him all the blame isnt fair or accurate...  The Running  game especially Toby has been beyond dismal to embarassing .... Toby should be benched going into week 3.  That one should be obivious.

I for one would like to see Storm or Robinson get a chance at running for awhile...

The Oline does need to do a better job especially RT but I think he got injured during the game not sure whom came in for Bradfield I assume it was young.  The Safety play has been really bad in the absence of Jonathan Cyprien.

You can simply look at the first half of the Eagles game and how great the Defense played & then how poorly they have played since he's been gone..... huge impact player....

Toby is just to slow. We need to never run him outside

The following play, Chad was looking to throw deep again but the Redskins started to blitz... and Henne doesnt get rid of the ball fast enough (especially during blitzs)

The shotgun runs when its short yardage and the Oline collapases (time and time again) why Fisch why call that play?

and was there 3 drop passes by Brown yesterday?

You can see the Center #66 Jacques McClendon helping RG Rookie Brandon Linder #65, but what is LG #68 Zane Beadles doing on this play?  RT #78 Cam Bradfield is doing a great job on this play.

They just read the breakdown of the game that Profootballfocus.com did on 1010XL, and here's how PFF broke down responsibility for the stacks, hits, and hurries:

Joeckel: 1 sack, 1 hit, 1 hurry

McClendon: 1 sack, 1 hit, 1 hurry

Beadles: 1 sack, 1 hurry

Henne: 2 sacks

Bradfield: 3 sacks, 1 hit, 2 hurries

Linder: 3 sacks

Young: 1 hurry

Bowanko: 1 hit

They listed this as 11 sacks, but I think they probably gave a shared sack to two guys in here somewhere.  Still, the way they broke it down, they put 2 on Henne.

Interesting. I'm not really familiar with the concept - is it around average for them to fault the QB for 20% of the sacks?

Did you watch this play?

The ball is snapped at 12:37.  From the shotgun, with a 4 step drop, Henne had the ball for all of 3 seconds when the rush was on top of him.  We don't see the receivers in the capture above, but it's quite possible that even though they were more than 5 yards down field after 3 seconds, they probably weren't open, right?  I guess Henne should have just chucked it out there based on your keen analysis of this play.  Your capture shows 12:35.  If you'd shown 12:34, that probably would have ruined it for your entire argument on this play.

I haven't analyzed all of their stats to know how they average QB fault for sacks.  I'm simply posting what they provided for this game.

Just posted this in another thread, the right side of the line is atrocious, absolutely pathetic. Couple that with one of the least talented QB's in the league and this is what you get, the silver lining is the left side was solid; a healthy AP will do wonders for the right side, as will a competent QB.

Quote:the first picture is a big ol hole that Gerhart missed. i remember yelling at him from my couch.

the second picture, i dont know if it was a sack play, but it shows that all the ills arent the OL. And just from watching the game, any honest observer would know that most of the sacks were a result of Henne.
If you bothered to show the actual video clip of this play, you'd have to adjust your argument significantly.  The line folded like a cheap tent on a shotgun snap with a 4 step drop.

different QB

different results

its not a hard concept

if a better QB is back there, defenses cant pin their ears back

A team and their co-ordinators should scheme around the teams strengths. So far they've done that.

Punting has been really good.

So many dont get that, Henne, as bad as he does look at times, is dealing with a sieve of a line, rookie WRs, no run game ( back to the line ). Thinking Bortles is the answer at this point, imo, is naive at best. Im actually afraid to put him in, turn him into the next Carr, Leaf, Harrington, etc. All great prospects who got thrown in early and the pressure/stress/need to win got to them. There is no consistency, talent on this team to help develop him. Coaches know this. MB coaches dont
