Quote:Fair weather?  2007-2014 is how many years?  Of course we aren't approaching the factory of sadness yet.

I find it funny that anyone can think the Jags have fair weather fans.... That would imply that we don't always suck.  Anyone who still is with the Jags after the last 6 years deserves a freaking medal.  Or a psychiatric evaluation.

One of these years.............

Okay, so what kind of return are you looking for out of rookies and noobs?

Huh

It takes a lot of ignorance to call Jaguar fans "fair weather fans", most of these people have been rooting for the team since the beginning, and have suffered through years of agonizing unacceptable football.

Quote:Just shut up man, I don't see how anyone question a fans frustration with a team that's been rebuilding for 7-8 years, everyone seems to be frustrated but you. You're the minority; it takes a lot of audacity to call out a frustrated fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Everyone that has complained has valid points, none of which you inexplicably seem to see. Either you're naive or extremely stupid; I'm assuming it's a combination of both.

You act like you expected this team to be playoff contenders or something. I knew we were going to suck this year. Just look at our damn roster. I knew that Bortles wasn't going to be inserted into the lineup even after Henne bombs another game. They told you this all offseason but for whatever reason you stick your fingers in your ears like this is new news.

Why couldn't he play at Washington with a protective device?

Competency?

Look around the league. Teams get contributions from first and second year players all the time.

I'd say most of those guys are joining more established teams/systems.  We're the 2nd youngest team in the NFL.  Losses still hurt but the better days will come with more experience/additions.

Either way, Caldwell is not getting much return on his draft picks at the moment.

No one was expecting this team to push for a playoff spot this year, suggesting so is disingenuous, but we were expecting a better more competitive football team, is that too much to ask for? Getting outscored by a good but not great Eagles team, and a bad Redskins team by a total of 75-10 in 6 quarters is unacceptable, I don't care how you slice it. The Jaguars looked terrible yesterday, in every phase of the game. I'm looking around the league at other rebuilding programs (Bills, Browns etc...) and they seem to be headed in the right direction, the same can't be said for the Jaguars. It's perfectly ok to have a pessimistic attitude considering those things, without being called a "fair weather" fan by someone like you.

Eh...I think the evaluation was correct and the talent is there.  They just need some polish.  I though it was universally accepted that 2015 is when the turn around happens.

I'll get over it as soon as you point out who is expecting us to look like playoff contenders.

I don't think it's wrong to expect them to look like an actual NFL team at this stage in the rebuild. For 7 out of 8 quarters they have played horrid football.

Exactly.  Look I'm well aware how bad this team was and how many band aid slap ons were attempted but to look at the performance yesterday and not be upset?  This isn't some knee jerk reaction.  These are red flags running up the flag pole.

Problem I have is the longer they sit Bortles the longer we delay that potential turnaround in my opinion.

He's not going to develop any type of relationship with guys like Lee, Robinson and Hurns by watching them on the bench.

I still don't understand that line of thinking.

lol the whole " I'm smarter than you because I knew we were going to suck " argument.

Sorry people don't like looking forward to the top pick by week 2. We already gave the Jaguars last year as an excuse, how long is this crap going to go on?Do you pay for tickets? I do. No one expected a championship team, but I'm willing to guess they expected more than 8 total first downs.

Save it.

I agree but the thing that scares me was what Gus said during the interview today.  He said part of the problem with the blitzes was WRs running the wrong depth to get the ball out quick.  They might need some more seasoning before Bortles comes in.

Why don't you point out what addition we've made this offseason that would make us so much more competitive from last year.

I'll wait.
