Bradley press conference

Quote:Knarnn just stop man, you're not even making any sense now. You knew I understand than a handful of bottom tier players isn't going to turn this team around. I'm also willing to give Caldwell 1 more year to continue building the middle and upper part of this roster.

Quote:Lol this is the biggest panic post I have ever seen. Someone in the NFL should hire you for you're ability to tell how good free agents will turn out before seeing them play. I'm not sure if his posts warrant a response at this point as it's clear he's being disingenuous. He tried taking the “Jags FO can do no wrong approach" and it back fired right into his silly little face. "I’ll address that now and say that we’ve been dealing with all-scheme today – offensively, defensively, special teams – and we haven’t had a chance to talk about personnel. After looking at the tape, I thought. … It’s tough. He had a tough day. He had the [10] sacks. And on top of it, the missed assignments that we had at other positions. We’re evaluating – that’s the truth right now. But if you’re asking me right now, yeah, Chad Henne is our starter.”
To me. It sounds like something will he announced Wednesday. Probably for Henne, but to me the above does not paint a for sure view of Henne starting. Honestly it sounds like he doesn't want Henne in but they haven't finished going through all of the tape and discussions to make a decision yet, so you stick with what's there for now.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I'm also willing to give Caldwell 1 more year to continue building the middle and upper part of this roster. I don't have a problem with your perception of what the plan is or should look like, I do have a problem with you calling loyal frustrated Jaguar fans "fair weather fans" as you did a couple of pages ago. If the team was winning the message board would reflect it, if the team was competitive the message would reflect it, but that’s not the reality. We show less advertisements to registered users. He probably will decide after practice Wednesday because obviously coaches need to see Blake's readiness as well as Chad's failures before making the switch.
If you need to watch tape to determine that Bortles should start, you weren't paying attention to the game on Sunday. So the OL sucked. The whole team did. We're going nowhere this year. Let Blake start to get him some experience. He's not improving on the bench or in practice.
One of these years.............
Wow this knarnn guy is impossible to read...
The type of arguments he spouts are so laughable

Let Blake start to get him some experience. He's not improving on the bench or in practice. Not true. He needs to watch the tape to evaluate what happened Sunday. What did the OL do wrong? What did the RB do wrong? What did the WRs do wrong? He needs to look at everything and not just the fact that the QB sucked.
Quote:Wow this knarnn guy is impossible to read... It's laughable, it's not like Jaguar fans have unreasonable expectations. We don't expect a playoff or superbowl push, we don't even expect to win most games we play, the expectations are so low most fans are happy with this team being competitive, that's an extremely low bar that seems impossible to achieve.
He was spewing this crap last night...
Too bad he doesn't spend thousands of dollars on this team... Quote:I agree but the thing that scares me was what Gus said during the interview today. He said part of the problem with the blitzes was WRs running the wrong depth to get the ball out quick. They might need some more seasoning before Bortles comes in.This is why you need to have a veteran receiver out there. Rookies have a huge learning curve to overcome. Missing Shorts hurts more than some would admit here. As far as keeping Bortles out holding this team back, that's debatable. We don't know how much better this team would perform with him out there, or how that would translate into more wins over the long haul. As distrustful as some here are now about Caldwell's ability to evaluate talent and bring it here, how can anyone (especially those who are hammering Caldwell in other threads) think that Bortles will magically come in and instantly turn things around and we'll suddenly be a playoff contender? Last time I checked, he's still a rookie who hasn't really faced anything beyond the vanilla scheme of a fourth preseason game, and backups the rest of the preseason. If he comes in and he's able to be slightly more effective than Henne, that amounts to what? 5 wins instead of 4 this year? Yip yip yahoo! I'm not opposed to getting Bortles in this year, but when I look at the train wreck of a line, the complete lack of a running game, and receivers who don't know up from down, I have to wonder how he's going to be the magic pill that makes this team a contender? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's about more than being competitive for them. I still don't get the rush. He's going to get in there eventually. This is a learning year for him. When they feel confident he's ready to take over, and they feel comfortable with the personnel around him being adequate enough to allow him to develop, I'm pretty sure he winds up in there. As you've already pointed out, this season isn't about the playoffs or Super Bowl. So, if he starts in week 3, or week 8, or week 15, he's going to get experience this year. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Missing Shorts hurts more than some would admit here. We're not looking for a contender Tim... We're looking to be, at the very least, competitive. I am pretty sure that no one expected a playoff run this year. As far as starting Bortles goes...? We want to prepare him for the future (a la, next year) by giving him the most game experience he can get... You know, to make his rookie mistakes this year, as opposed to next year, where we are "supposed" to contend right? Wasn't this year basically a lost cause or "rebuilding" year? If so, then plug the rookie in and let him go through his growing pains - like the entire team...
So many complaints. Yet the same ones will be in the stands Sunday. Why?
Oh yeah. Loyal fans No one is forcing anyone to go, anymore than going to a continually bad restaurant, movie, date, etc. Oh, if we dont go, we may lose the team. OK Start BB so he can learn. Learn that his OLine are sponsers for swiss cheese. He cant get any yards on running plays. His WRs are still figuring out the nuances of NFL ball. That'll get that confidence right on up there. Maybe, just maybe, he isnt quite ready yet. Trial by fire has also been proven to backfire. Defenses will blitz the crap out of him. But Shad is comforted in knowing there so many out there that know better...he can fire his staff anytime. Hop on the MB and get advice.

I understand where you're coming from, but my post was in response to knarnn calling frustrated Jaguar fans fair weather fans, it's stupid comment considering the state of this franchise over the past 7-8 years, we weren't debating Blake Bortles starting/not starting. Eventually people like Shad will learn that hiring noobs rarely works out.
Get out the checkbook, and pay a SEASONED head coach, and a seasoned proven successful general manager, instead of a bunch of rookies. These type things are why I think the organization is a joke. Quote:So many complaints. Yet the same ones will be in the stands Sunday. Why?This is a bunch of crap... There are multiple examples of QB's who were "thrown to the wolves" who turned out to be really good QB's (Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, etc)... There are also multiple examples of those who did not pan out... I think the basis is the mental fortitude of the player... If he is a pansy boy who needs to have his applesauce spoon-fed to him, like Gabbert, then sure... He won't make it... But based off what we have seen from Bortles... He is certainly the FURTHEST thing from Gabbert, David Carr, etc etc.... |
