It's Not All On The OL..Keep Telling You Guys

Quote:Henne's performance these first two games will never get him inducted into Canton, and I do not argue otherwise. Indeed. But, by saying so, you become an apologist for Henne, and you're all in for him. Just so you know. Quote:yeesh, now this guy is just pulling stuff out of the airNobody is lying. Read your posts. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:The sooner all you realize that this team is still tank mode, the sooner we can accept what is going on. Tank mode for who? There's no one worth tanking for, this team simply isn't very good, it lacks playmakers on both sides of the ball required to compete at this level. There are very few players on this roster that are capable of beating their man one on one consistently, we lack high end playmakers and depth.

There are very few players on this roster that are capable of beating their man one on one consistently, we lack high end playmakers and depth. Once Bortles is in the game you'll likely find out this is incorrect, and that guys can get open on a regular basis once they believe the ball can actually come their way. Quote:The difference is I won't mind seeing us fail with Blake back there. The team makes no progress with Henne either. He IS our backup, so what kind of chemistry with receivers and the line will be useful to the team long term? That's why I think this team is not really concerned with winning yet. It's not about wins right now, or putting the best players on the field. We are already preparing for next season. Quote:The point is that Henne constantly fails to put up enough points for the team to have a winning record. I did not say it was all Henne"s fault but no one in the media or any one else believes he is a starting quarterback. He is not even a good backup quarterback in my opinion. So you understand that is my opinion! Jump on it if you like. The offense under Henne fails to put up points. There's a lot more to that than just Henne, right? We've got zero running game right now. The line is hardly doing an effective job of blocking for the run or pass currently. The inexperience of the receivers has to be taken into account, and has been pointed out by the coach as being an issue. Henne deserves more than his fair share of the blame, and nobody thinks he's going to suddenly elevate his game to a level where he's anything more than what he is today, but he is not the sole reason why this offense has struggled. Quote:another indictment of FBT looks like Clop clop clop. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Assuming the FO does their job well, the higher draft pick gets a better player at any position.
Quote:any qb worth a darn can just throw the ball to the right of robinson (from henne's POV) and force the DB to have to go through the WR to make an interception. i honestly can't believe you really believe that. i just asked a woman to tell me who was open and who could ge tthe ball and they said A Rob Quote:so how many yards away does a DB need to be to be open? haha ^^This^^ I think FBT is Henne's brother or cousin or something. How can you defend this play?
If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts
#iamlegend Quote:Bottom line is... To answer your question, I don't know at this point. Long term, Henne absolutely does NOT give us the better chance to win between he and Bortles. Bortles is bigger, faster, has a strong, accurate arm and an aggressive approach to QBing thus far. In the immediate term, however, I am not sure because I am not sure what his command of the offense is at this point. If he cannot consistently identify the Mike, or there are some protections he misses, or plays he still has not mastered, then it is legitimate to question whether he gives the team the best chance to win. We have seen in the defense the disastrous results that can come from not knowing the playbook and blowing assignments. I can only imagine that effect being magnified if we put a QB out there who is prone to do the same thing-ignoring the things opposing defenses do to confuse QBs. It would also send a message to the rest of the team that if the QB-the leader of the team-can be sent out by coaches obviously unprepared-then anybody at a "lesser" position can safely go out unprepared. I don't think it will be long before Bortles is in the lineup, and I think over time, we the fans will be pleased with the results. But even if he is better than Henne now (not a stretch), I don't think we as fans have enough information to definitively say he is ready to start. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:The difference is I won't mind seeing us fail with Blake back there. So you're not part of that crowd that is now after Caldwell. Good. But, those yahoos still exist, and they will no doubt be in a quandary over how to deal with Bortles if he comes in and does well. If he struggles, they'll use that as an indictment of Caldwell, and eventually they'll label him a bust. It's what they do, and they will do it early and often if that happens. They don't know any better. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:At least those blowouts will be a little more competitive, but as long as they're still blowouts, we're going to need to blame the QB, right?I think everyone calling for Blake to start understand he is not the silver bullet that going to turn this team around! I can accept his growing pains and the loses that will come. I can not accept losing with Henne while our future quarterback sits no the bench getting no game experience and delaying the development of Blake. The quarterback is the most important position on the field and because he showed in preseason his is capable of playing in adverse conditions, has better skills and can extend plays with his feet while throwing accurate passes on the run benching him is not helping this team for the future.
Quote:For who? The best players in the draft. I don't think this team is tanking for an individual player, if you're going to tank for someone it better be a QB, we already have a QB Quote:The sooner all you realize that this team is still tank mode, the sooner we can accept what is going on. I don't agree that the team is in tank mode. That would imply there's something intentional happening here, and for that to be the case, they wouldn't have gone out and invested as heavily as they did in the defense this off season only to see the unit struggle now. No owner would tolerate that. I think what people need to recognize is that it's still a very young team, and that there are going to be struggles early as they continue to mature and develop as NFL players. By the time we get to the bye week and beyond, we'll hopefully be seeing a completely different brand of football. To say they're tanking at this point is just nonsense. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Read Objective's posts in this thread. He'll inspire the entire team to up their game merely by being on the field. I do see Bortles as the better of the 2 QBs, but there's clearly a reason they don't want to subject him to the beatings he'd undoubtedly take behind the current line. You're missing a starter, and you've got revolving doors at the RG and C positions right now. That's not good. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I think now is the time to be concerned with winning. Last year was a throw-away year. We shouldn't have two of them in a row.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:I think now is the time to be concerned with winning. Last year was a throw-away year. We shouldn't have two of them in a row. Exactly, and to be honest I'm not concerned about wins and losses, I just want to watch a competitive frickin football game. Quote:I don't think this team is tanking for an individual player, if you're going to tank for someone it better be a QB, we already have a QBAgreed. They're not tanking. This is a young team that's taking their lumps. Nothing more. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:I think now is the time to be concerned with winning. Last year was a throw-away year. We shouldn't have two of them in a row. Winning is the goal, but really the Jaguars still have a rung to go up the ladder before they get there. First comes the goal of not getting utterly destroyed by other bottom feeding teams of the league. Once the Jaguars can actually run with the texans and titans and browns and skins of the league then attention can be turned to the next rung of getting better, actually winning. Quote:I think now is the time to be concerned with winning. Last year was a throw-away year. We shouldn't have two of them in a row. This year is a throw away year if they keep Henne in there. Nothing against Henne, but since he's not the future, it doesn't matter what he does this year. Unless we get Bortles experience, we throw this year away. One of these years.............
The change at QB will be made soon. And it will be quickly if there is a loss this Sunday.
