Who is Andrew Luck?
|
Even after throwing that INT late in the game, in FG range, while staring down the reciever. Luck is still the best starting QB in the AFCS right now.
Every team in the AFCS would take Luck over their starting QB right now. Luck is a good young starting QB who only 2 full seasons into his career has several come from behind wins. That's a great trait in a young QB any way you look at it. Sure, he seems to throw a lot of picks, but at least he takes chances and goes deep. He's also above average in QB mobility and that's another big plus. Has he peaked as some think? It does look like he is still the same QB he was when he first started, but it's only been 2 full seasons and a couple of games against 2 teams projected to win their divisions. I think he can still get better, esp if he cuts down on his turnovers. He will most probably move up in starting QB tiers when the current older great QBs like TB, PM and DB start retiring. I just don't see a lot of great young QB's out there right now, there are some good ones, but not great imo. Can any of them become great? Well, some young QB out there will be leading his team to a SB victory once PM, TB, DB, AR and the other older guys start retiring and it will not be Seattle winning them all. Of course we all all hoping BB will be in the great QB mix in the next few years. Time will tell on all these things.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Luck has times where he looks good. He is good at climbing the pocket and is good at running when he HAS to run. His O-line isn't actually as bad as advertised IMO.
If he doesn't take that next step soon, they look worse and worse for getting rid of Manning. That move was a serious backfire.
Quote:Next step? When was his last step? College? I dunno... I just figured since the NFL and the networks are trying to shove this guy down our throats as the "next great QB" with back to back prime time games, he could at least do them the courtesy of taking the next step.
I actually have to mute Indy games as the love fest is so strong. I haven't done that since favre

You few in here are the very select few saying he is mediocre. Good for you. We're happy. You're happy cause you think he sucks. See on Sunday. My first trip to ever bank field.Specifically that interception you were talking about had nothing to do with the receiver getting knocked down. Its not an agenda, its reality, and I'm only talking about it in the thread about Andrew luck... So.... I could just pretend he's amazing like you because you're told to, but I prefer to face reality.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:Specifically that interception you were talking about had nothing to do with the receiver getting knocked down. Again we're happy with our QB. You're happy with our mediocre QB. All is good. And I will never agree that. Hilton was cutting to the ball he fell and the ball was picked. 3TDs 1 Int. I will take those numbers every game. I prolly would have just run and not even threw the ball and kicked a FG and won the game. Personally I put that loss on coaching. Quote:Even after throwing that INT late in the game, in FG range, while staring down the reciever. Luck is still the best starting QB in the AFCS right now.I agree completely. Almost everyone at this point acknowledges that the Colts, outside of Luck, and the receivers, have a talent depleted roster. Yet he had them in the playoffs last year, and has had the Colts competitive against two quality teams the first two weeks. If Bortles turns out to be comparable in quality, I will be quite happy. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

I haven't done that since favre My wife and I used to play a game when Favre was playing: How many times will the announcers say his name? We would have made it a drinking game, but we didn't want to leave our children as orphans.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Yeah the coach forced that ball out of his hands. Leave it to you to be the only human that didn't see that the interception should have been overturned. Quote:Leave it to you to be the only human that didn't see that the interception should have been overturned. Whether he was knocked down or not, that pass was behind him and would have been a pick regardless.

Quote:Whether he was knocked down or not, that pass was behind him and would have been a pick regardless. Yep, that was a Henne-esque throw if I ever saw one. He stared him down all the way too. I've seen the replay a dozen times, Luck never looks anywhere else. It was a game changing INT for sure. Why not just run the ball and kick the FG and be up 10 points late in the 4th qtr?

He has looked pretty average these two weeks. He has a pretty good receiving group and they were able to run the ball very effectively which should have helped him, but it didn't. He has made it to the playoffs in the worst division in the NFL. I'm jjust not seeing what others are seeing. He is above average yes. But I wouldn't say he is more then that. Quote:Not me.
