***OFFICIAL*** Week 3 Injury Report

How many teams are going to be lined up to trade for an injured WR in the last year of his contract?

Trades don't happen often in the NFL. Trades for injured players never happen.

Yikes.  I hope they can get Shorts ready to play this week.  Anyone know if he was limited in practice today?

That ain't pretty.

Not feeling good about this game. It just keeps getting worse and worse as far as Jag news is concerned. Man, all this excitement in the off season destroyed in literally two weeks.

That's like a new record.

Oesher confirmed that Pasztor will be the backup Sunday.

That makes no sense for a guy who is practicing fully.  He has a hurt hand.  It's hardly a crippling injury.

He'll be active, and if Young falls flat, I'm sure he'll see playing time.  If this was a team with a more stout front 7, he'd probably be starting this week.

He broke his hand. Fourth meta-carpal bone. Broken.  Not hurt. It's a bone that was in one piece before  - and now is in two pieces and trying to fuse itself back together. It is a rather crippling injury if you really need to use that hand to block a 290 pound person.  Which he does.

He can play in a cast  -  but he can also re-injure it by playing.  He also won't be as effective without full mobility of the hand/wrist.   It makes perfect sense to give Young a shot with Frenchie ready to go "just in case."

from homepage/Oehser:

“He felt really good today,” Bradley said, adding that if Shorts continues to practice this week as he has he will start against Indianapolis.

That likely would mean Shorts starting opposite either rookie
Allen Robinson[Image: icon-article-link.gif]
 or rookie
Allen Hurns[Image: icon-article-link.gif]
. A rookie free agent from Miami,

Hurns started the first two games of the season but did not practice Wednesday or Thursday because of an ankle sprain.

Hurns playing Sunday remains possible, with Bradley saying he will need to show progress Friday for that to happen.

He is not starting. That does not mean he will never play Sunday.

Most likely it has something to do with the fact that Young played in the first two games and Pasztor did not.

I think it has a lot more to do with Pasztor having a broken hand.  Pasztor was the starter at RT before he was hurt.  Young was 3rd string before Bradfield was cut.   Young getting 20 snaps over the past two games doesn't outweigh Pastor getting 400 or so last year.

Young gets the start in an attempt to let Pasztor fully heal before being forced to start him with a cast on his hand and wrist.

I am surprised Allen Hurns has any chance of playing after seeing how he went out Sunday. Maybe they are holding out hope because Marqise Lee was ruled out.

So why not just bench Bradfield until Pasztor heals completely and then cut him?

Bradfield singlehandedly gave up 2 or 3 sacks (depending on who you ask) as well as a few QB pressures last week.  He played his way off of the roster.  Young looks like a better option until Pasztor is ready to go.

And the Colts have literally no pass rush without Robert Mathis. Did you see how much time Nick Foles had to throw the ball Monday night?

Not only that, but Arthur Jones being out can't help Indy's defensive line.

Good points.  Perhaps the Jags woeful O-line has a chance to tighten up this week.
