I'm torn because I really don't feel Bortles is stepping into a stable situation. Rookie wideouts and linemen.


But it is nice to see this next era in our franchise unfold.

Let these young players develop together. They will be better playing together than with Bortles on the sideline. This goes for OL and receivers.

He's more mobile than Henne, but let's make sure we put this into proper context. The Indianapolis line isn't exactly a juggernaut out there, and they weren't really prepared for Bortles. Let's see how things progress for him as teams start to game plan specifically for him. I think over the long haul he should be fine, but there are going to be some ugly moments along the way. Allowing him time to develop has hurt absolutely nothing here.

The pick 6 was ugly, no doubt, but what he was able to do before that is why I'm excited. They brought pressure and the pocket started to collapse. I was waiting on him to pull a Henne and tuck the ball while standing still and waiting on the rush to swallow him, but he found an opening and escaped the pocket. It was truly refreshing to see

I do agree that this line is a real concern, but if we were waiting for them to look good to play Bortles, that day wasn't going to come. The second half should show why clearly. They still looked bad, but not "38 yards of offense in a half" bad. The offense can still function with them, with only a change at qb. Make a few throws, back the defense off the line, and even a few running lanes show up.
