Michigan

Last night made me happy that my favorite sport is college basketball.

Hoke's gotta go. He isn't the answer. The team was embarrassingly unprepared last night. The only two players on this team that show up to play are Gardner and Funchess but they've got no hope with the abysmal offensive line. This is going to be a long season.

That game was a joke. Gardner is a joke of a QB. I thought Hoke was a good hire but it appears that's not looking right. We need to send a blank check to Harbaugh to get him to come coach. Last night was really embarrassing. No where near where Michigan football should be at. It appears the days of Big10 being relevant are over. God this is awful. /Rant

One thing that seems evident was how underappreciated Lloyd Carr was by many Michigan fans and some in the media,  when Carr was the team's Head Coach for well over a decade.

One additional that comes to mind that relates to what hailtoyourvictor mentioned in the beginning of the thread.   Under Lloyd Carr,  the Michigan Offensive Lines were usually a major strength.

Gardner is terrible. Absolutely awful as a QB

Trav, what joy do you get in trolling? 50% of your posts are pretty solid but you ruin it by trolling the rest of the time.

Like I said in the other thread, no QB would look good for Michigan. The offensive line is abysmal and he spends most his time with the defense in his face. Regardless, I'd appreciate a better breakdown from you and not just straight trolling. Thanks in advance.

edit:

Also, I don't think Gardner is a great QB, but the dude scored 32 touchdowns last year and threw for nearly 3,000 yards. Saying stuff like "Gardner is absolutely awful as a QB" is blatant trolling. Trav, for someone that loves the CFB board as much as you do, I'd figure you'd want to keep that kind of trolling out of here. You make it pretty un-enjoyable to participate in your CFB Pick Em with that Jr. High Girl stuff.

It's not trolling whatsoever. I can only go on what has been shown the last two season to this point. He is a terrible fit at QB. Gardner feasted for the most part on bad to average teams, Indiana, +500 yards passing, seriously? Minnesota, Penn State, Akron, ND last year. He did have a whale of a game against Ohio State last year, carried them in the rivalry game. But overall he's at best average. He's not a good fit at QB.

Not trolling.

You see that alot in sports. You don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Michigan is like Nebraska, Penn State, Notre Dame and other programs above the Mason-Dixon line. In order for them to compete in this era of college football, they have to be able to go into Texas, California and Florida and pull players. Ohio State does a good job. Nebraska and Michigan have struggled and the results on the field show this.

Hoke can recruit, but he can't develop the talent. I'm amazed that he won a BCS bowl with Denard Robinson at QB.

You can turn it around in 1 year. How could Auburn go from losing the last 3 games of 2012 losing 62-21,38-0 and 49-0 to the next year being in the National Championship with the same players?

You have players. Fire your coach and make a BIG move at hiring the best coach. It can happen

I wonder if Michigan (some) still think that Gardner is anything less then just average.

He's gotten worse since this conversation started.

And to think, I originally had "Michigan's coaching will hold them back as usual" and you talked me out of my prediction!

Unnecessary bump. Why troll when I've already conceited the Gardner is a mid-tier QB? He is not good and he is not absolutely awful. He is somewhere in between.

Not trolling at all. I came across an article on Yahoo regarding Michigan's season and thought of this as reading it. You have no idea what a troll is and I stated, as requested, although not necessary why Gardner is terrible.

I will also now add based on games since then. In two relevant games this season, Notre Dame/Utah, Gardner has 6 turnovers and Michigan has failed to score an offensive touchdown. At least he's in the Big 10/11/12/13/14 so he can pad his stats a bit.
