We will destroy the Chargers

Quote:do you have to live in Jacksonville to get firehouse sub coupons from scobees fgs? If not may I have a link to sighn up please.
If you go to main site and click on fanzone then contests you should find it. Sorry I can't link it.

However, if you don't live near here, I doubt your local firehouse would honor it. Should be for "participating locations".

Hey guys, chargers fan here. After reading your posts it's really sad to see that a lot of you are already writing off your own team. As a Chargers fan, we know we cant overlook you guys. Being 0-3 isnt a fun position to be in but I think you guys have a good of a chance to wim this game as with every other team.

Your swconfary has some playmakers and you guys have a pretty solid front 7. I'm sure Gus Bradley will be creative to create some trouble for our offensive line. Dont count yourselves out cuz we have out own issues as well. Our running game isn't all that great and i dont believe we will beat you guys on the deep ball sjnce our offense likes those quick dump off passes fot 3rd down conversion.

Bortles is your xfactor and im sure the game will be closer than you think. With hownour offense runs we wont put up a lot of points. I see us winninh but not by too much. My prediction is 30-21 chargers

I think I'll be closer than the last, though we lose by at least 2 scores.

We appreciate the props but let's face it, if we all predicted a Jags win you'd call us a bunch of homers. We've learned the hard way around here to be realists when it comes to the Jags the past few years. You guys have issues? You beat the defending champs. The Jags have been pummeled by double digits every week so far. We were losing 30-0 at halftime last week. You beat Buffalo on the road.

Bortles gives us hope but we're in full rebuilding mode once again. I'm not predicting a Jags win this week. If our defense was playing well, I'd feel better about the situation. However, our defense is ranked dead last and looks absolutely horrendous so far. My prediction is 31-20 San Diego.

What he said. We hope for a brighter future with a promising young quarterback, but our present situation (indeed, our situation for about the past seven years...) is bleak. While Blake Bortles is a step in the right direction, he is only one player. We need the team as a whole to stop being so.... dysfunctional! We've had among the worst defense and offense in the NFL for years now. I would hate to see a promising star career like Bortles get wasted (much like MoJo's career was) in Jacksonville on a team that is perpetually finding new ways to underachieve.

Still this is only the second year after the team roster was gutted. No one here (realistically) had expectations of the team doing better than 6-10 (if that) this year. We knew from our schedule that (given the offensive inertia embodied in Chad Henne...) that the first four games were/are pretty much unwinnable for us. After the Chargers game, now with a better quarterback at the helm (assuming he isn't injured in that game...) we should start seeing some more competitive games and wins.

Being in dead last place in almost every significant category in defensive statistics, however, tends to give one pause....

*Is our defense really that bad, or did the ineptitude of our offense (with Henne) just cause them to play heartless and end up looking that bad?

*Is our defensive scheme really that hard to understand, or do we just have too many 'low IQ' players on our defense?

*we use essentially the same defensive scheme used by the seahawks; they are good, we aren't. Are our players that bad?

*Is a significant part of this a coaching failure? Gus Bradly was the defensive coordinator of the seahawks, yet our guys look lost half the time. Why?

I predict another double digit blowout... 40-17 Chargers.

Congrats on beating the Seahawks, at least we won't have to hear about them going undefeated any more this season.

Yeah, you can go ahead and overlook the Jags, esp at home.

Rivers will dink/dunk and TE us to an easy win like he always does when he plays against the Jags.

That's just the way it is, I don't expect much to change on Sunday.

Heck, you could even play Kellen Clemens and beat the Jags this week.

While starting BB does seem interesting, it's just too much to ask of a rookie QB on an 0-3 bad team to go into San Diego, a perennial playoff team with a real good QB, and come out with a win.

I just hope to keep it within 2 scores and that Scobee hits a 40yd FG.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I agree here 10x. You can can be a realist and still be a fan, which is your PRIMARY role. The realist knows we've struggled in all aspects of the game and a loss is all but guaranteed. The fan in me however can see the youth on our team blatantly. On offense with shorts being back(knock on wood) and Lee out(one less rookie in the equation as far as receiver go), maybe we see less mental errors from this group this week. This o-line has a serious problem at LG imo, Beadles is getting too blown the *bleep* WAY too often in the run game AND pass game. Given the play next to him, Luke J has been okay. Bow looked decent at C and I expect him to look better with another weeks worth of practice. Same with Linder at RG. Young hasn't looked overwhelmed and with Austin practicing again the arrows pointing up at RT. On defense, run defense hasn't really been terrible but missed tackles can make it look that way. I believe like Gus, we are not a bad tackling team. Do our woes here stop this week or do we make it 3.5 weeks in a row? I hope its the former. Paul P either needs to step it up in coverage or Gus needs to maybe slide him to Otto or the bench in passing situations depending on the package. Better play from the FS position should definitely benefit our coverage. D-Line I have no problem with. So again, imo, this game comes down to if the Chargers can keep the steam from beating the Hawks and the Clots. No doubt they have the talent but do they have the moxie?

28-24 JAGS!! Late touchdown from Blake the Bomber wins it.

Denard throws a TD to Bortles in the last second of the game. During the post-game celebration, Bortles gets on a microphone and tells the world he must leave, as his planet needs him. He then flies off into space using Jedd Fisch as a cosmic surfboard.

Hello, Jags fans.  Thought I'd say hey.  I think this game may be closer than a lot of you think.

I agree that if the Chargers were at full strength, a blowout would be in the cards.  But the Chargers have been crushed by injuries, and it's to the point it's getting worrisome for us.  (I forget which publication -- I think it was SI -- listed us as the #1 most hit by injuries team).  Look at the following list, which I borrowed from your "injury" thread:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">WR Keenan Allen Groin FP

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">LB Jerry Attoaochu Hamstring DNP

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Putting aside the (hopefully minor injuries), the list of DNP is a major concern.  Especially when added to the players we've sent to IR, and PUP lists.

Not knowing what Bortles is really capable of helps. We keep hearing about Seattle losing there but no one seems to remember that it was 110 degrees on the field nd I'm sure that had some effect on the outcome. San Diego is also a strange team. They are a slow and methotical offense, and their defense is like playing a chess game. They won't blow us out unless we turn the ball over. If the defense (mostly meaning Gratz) can tight up it can be close. It can be had. I had this as a loss but I'll give us the win in a close game to recoup the win we should have had over Washington. 27-24.

the only thing we can hope for is that our rookie quarterback doesn't get hurt..
