What if Teddy Bridgewater decides to stay for his senior year?

#1

OK, so his mom seems to think he decided already to leave school early for the NFL. But Teddy Bridgewater himself has not stated this, so all of this talk about him being a top five pick is 100 percent speculation. We went through this before with Andrew Luck. The Panthers said he will be the top pick if he chooses to come out early. He didn't. So let's think about what would happen if for whatever reason Bridgewater decides to fiinish school and enter the 2015 draft.

Some people are calling Marcus Mariota the leader in the Heisman Trophy race and a good consolation prize for teams that miss out on Bridgewater. I only know Mariota is Oregen's quarterback, so I have no opinions about him.

Six months ago, everyone believed Jadaveon Clowney would be a Chief or Jaguar if he was eligible. What a shame, because now he is eligible and not performing as well. An incident where he told Steve Spurrier half an hour before kickoff he would not play against Kentucky made people wonder if he has a mental issue. Is he a high risk?

Would all you tankers want the top pick anyway even if you did not know who is most likely to be selected first?

Why not? Get Clowney or trade down. We "tankers" are winning this, no matter what side of the argument you want to slice it.

1) Mom said he isn't.

2) He has a 10 million dollar insurancy policy.

3) He graduates in 2 months.

4) DOLLA DOLLA DOLLA BILLS YALL

5) No one with a brain thought the Jaguars were taking Clowney. If we were picking that high it's because Gabbert sucked again.

So nobody thought we were terrible against the pass and easily could have upgraded one of our defensive ends? I am pretty sure he would have been a welcome addition. Now this season you can't say we are horrible because of the pass rush after seeing what our defensive line did to Peyton Manning, but you also can't blame one QB since Chad Henne started half of our games.

Bridgewater will declare.  He's graduating in December.  Not a whole lot of reasons for him to go back.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

If you are like Scarecrow, you will be my enemy tomorrow when Iowa plays against Ohio State. I see you live in the Hawkeye State too.

How did you put Bridgewater in a Jaguars uniform?

There is if he wants to get a master's degree. Christian Ponder stayed at FSU two years after graduating.

A major difference between the situations of the two QB's is Christian Ponder's draft stock was not on the level that Teddy Bridgewater's draft stock very likely will be.     Ponder raised his stock by remaining at FSU.     Bridgewater is on a clear path to be a top 2 pick,   with a pretty good chance of being the # 1 overall pick.

Now Christian is "ponder-ing" how to continue his NFL career after being benched.

I remember the big complaint about him before the draft was durability. This year he is a lot more durable than our QB Blaine Gabbert.

Christian Ponder suffered a rib injury vs. the Browns in week # 3 of the season.    While Ponder has been more durable than Blaine Gabbert,    the rib injury helped opened the door for Ponder to lose his starting job.    Even though Matt Cassel couldn't hold the starting job because of a poor performance vs.  the Panthers,    it's possible that Ponder will never start another game for the Vikings.    Especially since the Vikings team brass wants to see what Josh Freeman can do for an extended period of time.    A change of scenery for Ponder probably is in his best interest,   even though the new team he would be with wouldn't have Adrian Peterson in the backfield.

Back to Bridgewater: I think he will declare for the draft, but don't want that speculation to sound like he already did.

If for any reason we can't pick Teddy, who would you want?

And live with the same crappy quarterback who wears #11? I would either draft the second-best quarterback or trade down.

Louisville will be in the ACC in 2014.

And the AAC is a BCS conference as well so they have their shot if they go undefeated.

I<strong> think this topic should be merged with the post-Super Bowl topic from RavensWoman asking "What if Flacco Decides to Sign for the League Minimum"</strong>
