Bortles is a problem

#81

Quote:Not really sure what people were expecting.  Rookie QBs usually throw a lot of Interceptions and make even more mistakes.  Bortles has shown some good and some bad, I think the potential has far outweighed the negative so far.  Will he be a franchise QB?  I have no idea but it will be interesting to watch his development.

Hey look folks another parrot joined the forum. He should fit right in with all the others.

We're going to blame everyone but Bortles for the next couple years....it's sucks cause we finally got over Gabbert.

I was surprised that the Jags took another "late-riser" QB, but we do have new coaching staff. QB's in college who have a bad 3rd down conversion percentage usually don't translate well in the NFL. Gabbert and Bortles both posted underwhelming percentages in college for 3rd conversions.

Childish insults don't bother me, I'm married.   If you'd like to discuss the topic you started: what were your expectation for Bortles in his 2nd game?

Drafting a QB out of such a small program like UCF is reminiscent of a Gene Smith pick. This kid aint no Daunte Culpepper that's for sure.

Shorts, Lee and M.Lewis will help Bortles a lot

I'm on board. Let's trade Blake to a team with some talent so he has a chance to succeed in this league

The second one wasn't just a bad decision, but the ball came out looking like an already shot duck.  If you're going to make that pass, at least zing the darn ball.

What's this about the talent around Bortles not being good enough?

A real QB makes the players surrounding him better.

Guess Bortles must be a bust.

Edit: Darn typo.

Knee jerk reactions are fun. I love how you backtrack and say that he'll still be a franchise QB while also saying his selection wAs Gene Smith esque.

You've got to be kidding me with this thread. Are you people serious? A rookie QB in his SECOND start made some mistakes. 2 rookie WRs, one of them an UDFA. Patchwork OL. A scrub protecting his blindside. A bonehead calling plays....

Let the kid take his lumps this year, our team blows anyways.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED!
Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!

So, you expect a rookie QB to not make mistakes?

I'd just back away and watch from a distance.. Thundercat is lighting up the pipe right next to a gas tank.. Pretty funny to watch..
