Bortles is a problem

Quote:Drafting a QB out of such a small program like UCF is reminiscent of a Gene Smith pick. This kid aint no Daunte Culpepper that's for sure.

You must be a Johnny Clipboard fan.  Because what other choice was there?

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Play better != not making rookie mistakes.

We should've brought someone as well. Cecil has proven that he can't stay healthy. I really hope we can bring in Larry Fitzgerald if he ends up hitting the market. Good friends with Jerry Sullivan. Would be an awesome mentor for the young guys and a safety blanket for Bortles.

He would have just pressed reset and drafted again..

The pick 6 was bad and it was his fault. But he certainly wasn't helped much by the WRs before that. No running game either and you pretty much know what's coming. He doesn't get a pass because it was a bad play, but the offense as a whole sucked.

Not to mention what the hell was with all the outside routes? Maybe they saw something on film but it seemed like they did nothing with the middle of the field in the second half.

I guess the silver lining of all this horrible QB play is that the Jags will be drafting #1 overall and we can finally land our QB of the future in Marcus the "Flyin Hawaiian" Mariota!

Strawman. Most overused word on this message board. Right up there with bingo and knee-jerk.

There are three kinds of fans out there in jaguar country. 1st.......... for the fans who were way too optimistic about this team and have now come down from their cloud to see the Jags for what they really are. (NOT A VERY GOOD TEAM). Then, there are the fans out there who have their feet on the ground and KNEW this was a "work in progress" and arent' that concerned with the win/loss column. But, the progress that everyone is looking for ...............just isn't there regardless of their record. Then there are the fans that almost hope for the worst out of this team so when it happens, they can say "I told you so".  It seems to me that the team is trying to "force" personnel configurations & schemes into what THEY see as an offensive game plan rather than adapting to the talent pool they currently have. I suspect nobody is scratching their head more over where the team finds themselves that Gus Bradley. But, as head coach, the buck has to stop with him and he really needs to sit down with his assistants and have a serious heart to heart and find out if maybe changes needs to be made there first. The bottom line is exactly what I predicted before the season even began. I said the first 4 to 5 games will be the tell tale sign to how good (or bad) this team really is. Unfortunately, that reality does not bode well for this 2014 team. THEY JUST AREN'T THAT GOOD A FOOTBALL TEAM..............pure and simple! That implies the entire team............not just certain players.

Have you known me to be any different? Everyone in my book is open to praise or criticism. The problem with this board is that we've stunk for so long that we are delusional when we see some semblance of decent play and we want to over hype it as great play. But we as fans can't call a spade a spade.

What a knee-jerk reaction.
