Bortles is a problem

Quote:Thats what i've been saying. As bad as Gabbert was he didn't throw 6 int in 2 games..Lets slow the boat on Bortles is a Future franchise QB because I'm not seeing that. Blaine Gabbert had tons of games like Bortles had today.
Actually I saw Bortles checkdown on 3rd and long today, it was sadly reminiscent of Gabbs. It wasn't Bortles gunslinging that made us lose, it was him going away from it after mistakes.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

So you point to the opposite side of the pendulum... You look just as dumb.

Quote:Here is one thing to consider.

He wants to be like Favre and that is not a bad thing.

Favre not only currently has the NFL TD record but he also has the NFL Int record.  With this type of QB you have to take the good with the bad.  If Bortles comes close to Favre I would be very excited.  Favre is going to be a Hall of Famer.
Farve won a SB too. I could live with that.

Bortles had a bad game...hes a rookie, going against one of the best defensive coordinators. It happens! We have no running game, rookie WRs, Clay Harbor is our starting tight end? lol. Bortles is NOT the problem.

This thread, LOL.  How do you guys not see Capt. Motorboat toying with you?

I can't decide if I love it or hate it.  Bortles did have his worst outing in terms # of bad decisions and poor throws today. He was definitely part of the problem.  However, he's by far our best option and simply played like most expect a rookie to play.  If we're blaming multiple losses on him in 2015 then this thread makes sense.  Right now - ya'll are just getting straight trolled.

LOL - Bortles is NOT the problem.  Look at this team - full of rookies and second-year players, best WR is suspended, next best WR is out with a sore hammy, TWO rookie O-linemen starting, TWO rookie WR's starting.  It's amazing how well Bortles played when you consider just how talentless this team really is.

You know what else will ruin a QB's day?

Drops. Drops and holding.

Blake Bortles practically carried the first drive on his back because of how bad the team around him was. The line is pathetic and the receivers, at least this game, were pathetic.

I'm ready to see what Marqise Lee can do now.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

And then there are those who have a tough time understanding circumstances and just look at things in black and white.....

if you're ready to give up on Bortles already, stop supporting the Jaguars.  He's one of the very few bright spots this team has.

Remember, he's still a rookie. Not everyone can come in and be Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson.

Bortles doesn't exactly have the best supporting cast around him.

Everyone needs to chill. This season is just a learning experience for him.

Yeah, and lets not forget Russell Wilson has the NFL's best defense supporting him.  He's a game manager that occasionally makes plays....Bortles is forced to do it all on his own with that joke of a run game.

It so funny because people on this board are still calling Luck "average."

Wilson is playing on one of the most talented rosters in the league. An amazing run game and a transcendent defense. What does Blake have? 2 rookie WRs, journeymen TE's, 2 rookies on the offensive line, below average running backs and a defense that generally gives up over 30 points a game.....

Bortles has thrown 6 INTs total.

Three have been "acceptable."

Three have been cringe inducing.

That's to be expected of a rookie QB, especially on a team devoid of experienced talent.

No excuses.  Just fact.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Fixed it.

But you nailed it generally speaking.

I have always stood my ground in saying Luck is above average, even good, but isn't "Elite". The national media and league are trying to shove him through my TV as the next big thing, but I just don't ever see him winning a SB.
