Ucf @ Louisville - Friday Night

I'd take Teddy in the 1st - Storm in the 2nd, and O-line, defense with the other 8 picks.
We doing it BIG....Florida State bringing that SWAG back in 2013!!!!

Quote:I agree, however I wouldn't put Mariota with him. LSU QB certainly warrants the look. Aaron Murray possibly as well as Tajh Boyd. After seeing how exposed Kaep and RG3 are with the Read-option taken away from them, I am sticking to pro style qbs. Also strength of schedule provides very little indication on a players potential. Joe Flacco was playing against scrubs, Tony Romo played against scrubs, Phil Simms played against scrubs. Schedule strength is a weak argument when you have proven qbs at the NFL level who played inferior competition in college.

He fits the NFL game perfectly..... Mechanics, footwork, accuracy, throwing with anticipation. Leadership, hardworker,

I have more confidence with him as a 1st rder than our last 2 1st rd. bust QB"s Byron & Gabby.

Their games had to be changed totally for them to succeed in the NFL and both failed miserably.

Exciting game.... glad Louisville lost though.  They clearly arent a great team.  Would have hated having them go undefeated and then listening to everyone at the end of the year talk about how they should be in the title game discussion.

Quote:Charlie Strong looked clueless.... What a disgrace for L-Ville D.... But happy for UCF.... I bet they could take the Gators this year if they played..

I agree on Strong. My thing about Louisville is will they be able to compete with teams like FSU, Clemson, Miami and Va Tech when they move to the ACC next year. I just don't see it unless they start recruiting some better linemen.

I just don't see why a team with one of the top-two (and that's lowballing it) QBS in the nation would run as much as they do. It just doesn't make sense to me. And especially if they were trying to win some style points. If I was the coach, I would have let Teddy throw it maybe 40 times last night. Try to hang 40 or 50 on them... Instead they went conservative, betting on their defense - and their defense let them down.

Quote:You lost all credibility right there. Murray over Mariota?

Really?
He comes a pro style offense, he has a better idea of pro passing concepts than Mariota. All about whats between the brain dude. Top 4 qbs in the league are not physical specimens.

You don't think Mariota, who mastered a 700+ play playbook has what it takes "between the brain"?

So please let us know what Mariota has "between the brain".

If its about whats "between the brain" Gabbert must not have anything "between the brain"

Quote:The loss wasn't on Teddy. He played exceptionally well, and rolled to his left/right in the pocket very well. He also threw some amazingly accurate throws into some tight windows.

The problem was that his defense shut down in the third/fourth.

They were up 28-7 in the middle of the third quarter.

for once egghead said something right ^^^

Louisville was up 28-7. This loss is on the defense/ coaching

Quote:I like Bridgewater as a prospect but man, he is skinny.

Quote:Yes, and P. Manning is a bodybuilder.

A better example might have been Tom Brady when he was drafted. He was slight build.

One of the biggest concerns about Bridgewater's physique is his narrow shoulders which make it difficult to add muscle mass.  A valid worry when he's behind an O-line of turnstiles.  Hopefully that won't be an issue next year if we use our draft picks and FA pickups wisely.

That is correct. I think his build was one of the reasons he fell in the draft. I like Bridgewater as a potential first pick. The kid is great. He just looks really, really skinny. I would be surprised (if the combine were today) if he topped 200 pounds. He should be able to put on some weight. And probably will this offseason.

Big difference between memorizing plays and reading complex coverage before the snap. Let alone going through 4-5 progressions while being able to read where the defense is going and getting the ball to your wide receiver in the right spot. Big difference in a one read and run and a pro style. That is why Griffin and Kaep are scrubs who got exposed. You can't qb run in the NFL UNLESS you are in a Chip Kelly wide open spread offense.
