Ok Frangie or Sexton on radio call?

I listened to Shadrick when he was with the Suns. He has a good baseball cadence to his voice, but I wonder how he would do in football.

I like the tone of his voice...I think he'd do well in football.

Yeah, he was actually very good in the baseball role.  I'm sure the transition wouldn't be that difficult, but it's not going to happen.

Quote:Why is everybody dogging Sexton. I actually liked the guy. He is the voice of the Jags. Frangie sounds strained and un-natural.

I've never understood it, either.

Falls in the "miss me yet?" category.  That succinctly tells the entire tale.

That, and some just enjoy complaining.

For a loooong time (before NFL Sunday Ticket was a thing), I had to follow all Jags games on NFL.com gamecast and listen to radio streams. The two things I have to see it:

1. NFL.com's gamecast has improved leaps and bounds.

2. I didn't mind Brian Sexton. I still get flashbacks to those days when I see Fred Taylor or Jimmy Smith highlights and hear Sexton's call. I never really got why this board hated Sexton so much, but I just assume it had to do with stuff other than his game broadcasts.

After suffering through a broadcast at the stadium, it's clear Frangie just sucks.

One again today, he started the 3rd quarter referring to it as the third period. On one play as the play clock got under 10 seconds, Frangie referenced the shot clock. Any time the steelers would get a running play for positive yards, he referred to it as a great run. He showed more enthusiasm for just about anything his team did out there while having to fake it for the team he's covering.

Hopefully this experiment is short lived.

I knew yesterday would be ugly so I didn't even listen.

What's funny is on his show Friday he referred to the Steelers as his old team and said he was no longer a fan. And that some Jaguar fans tweet him thinking he is. Bro, you ain't foolin anyone.

Yesterday was the first home game I've attended this year. I'm glad they changed the stadium announcer. The guy from last year was terrible.

He is a Steeler homer. The team hired a Steeler homer to be their PBP voice.

I'm fully convinced Khan hired Frangie just to stop him from saying "My Steelers" throughout the season.  Today would have been a nightmare on the air.

Could be.

I think Frangie does a good job and will improve as he gets more familiar with the team. But for me, Lageman and Boselli really carry the broadcast with their football IQs. If they ever stop doing color commentary, I'll be devastated.

In order to get more familiar with the team, Frank actually needs to spend SOME time with them.  That's not happening currently except on game day.
