Keep in mind that Peyton Manning lead the league in INT's his rookie year and I believe may have set a record. Look where he is now.

We are a young team at most every position. I believe the 2nd youngest in the NFL. We will have growing pains as we rebuild. Give these guys time to develop. Bortles has shown flashes of the potential we drafted him for. Don't be asinine and start throwing guys under the bus in their first year before they have time to prove or disprove the hype.

I do think we need to see some changes on the staff though.

Can we stop with the Peyton Manning rookie year comparisons? People fail to mention that in Peyton Manning rookie year also had games where he completed 60% of his passes threw for 300 yards and 3 TD 0 Int. Thats what I need to see from Blake,

I can live with the bad games if he has great ones too.

You're right the comparisons between Manning and Bortles are a little unrealistic. Manning at least had Marvin Harrison to throw to. I'm pretty sure there's not a WR on our current roster that's anything close to MH right now.

LOL Says the guy comparing him to Blaine Gabbert. And you fail to mention that Gabbert in his rookie year reached 60% completion percentage only once, while Blake has yet to fail to reach 60 in a game he's started.

Also let's not forget that Blake set the record for completion % for a rookie in their debut with 30+ attempts.

Every team we have played has been far more developed than we are with a QB,3 wr, and 2 offensive linemen who have spent less than a year in system they are in... u are welcome to your opinions but good lord, don't make yourself look stupid

Wrs being out matched and beaten to the ball, terrible RB wasting downs and a bad OC and the Qb whos shown poise ,timing, toughness and smarts is a problem?

Im beginning to wonder about the early timeouts while the team "gets the right play in place". Some believe Fisch may be handcuffing Blake a bit maybe they are disagreeing over the play calls and what they are seeing from the defense.

Wouldnt be the first time a qb and his oc didnt eye to eye.

At one point in the game yesterday I saw Blake look to the side of the field towards the coaches and yell "STOP". I can't normally read lips, but it was pretty obvious. I'm wondering if there's more to this than what's being talked about.

FYI, in his first 3 games. Peyton had 2 touchdowns and 8 Interceptions. BUST!!

There are terrible quarterbacks that threw tons of INT's and some that threw very little. We have Blake Bortles, not Peyton Manning, not Aaron Rodgers, not Ben Roethlisberger, and (thank goodness) not Blaine Gabbert. Either side of this argument (whether you like or dislike Bortles) using this argument is completely moronic.

No one is actually comparing him to Manning. They are just using his rookie stats to say "Pump the breaks on calling Blake a bust or that he doesn't have the tools to be a great QB."

True, but using Peyton's first season to bolster an argument is the same as finding a terrible QB who threw a lot of INT's and saying that he has a change to be a bust....doesn't hold water.

I don't think you remotely understand why people make these comparisons. The point isn't that he's Big Ben, or Peyton Manning. The point is that if even Peyton Manning made those mistakes, it's far too early to say "OMG HE A BUST, BLAKE IS A PROBLEM DERP DERP" like the simpletons here do.

Of course there is a chance but why would you want to be someone who marks him as a bust? Bortles doesn't look like the game is too much for him out there. He has the look of someone who has a chance to really be something for this franchise.

If you can't see that, then enjoy being pessimistic. I for one think he's going to be really good as long as we can build around him. Lets get some offensive lineman and RB's to help him. Get him a playmaking TE and then lets bolster the secondary.

Me personally, I look at the game and watch him. I immediately realize he has much more talent and potential than any QB we've seen since at least Leftwich, and hopefully Brunell.
