Went to the game Sunday. Left early due lack of production. That's my excuse.

Just because you bought a beer, doesn't mean you have to drink it if it's handed to you flat and warm.

You also have the right to complain that it's flat and warm without someone on the other side of the bar telling you to shut up and drink it

Can you complain if the keg is in the process of cooling?

Quote:No that is understandable and I covered your situation in the following quote from my original post:

My complaint is for those that live in and around Jacksonville, that don't have any other reason to leave other than to beat a little local traffic and get to their recliners a few minutes earlier. With the amount of people that I saw leaving early, there had to be some of that "let me get to my recliner ASAP" mentality. There is a difference between fans and great fans. It's about what you have the ability to do vs. what you actually do. If you drive 2 hours back and forth to games, I'd say you are a great fan.

If you could do me a favor next game.........wave a flag or send some other signal when you feel it's o.k. For me to leave..........thanks.

Different circumstances for that game. I stayed and watched that catch.

Does this excuse work for the OP?

I paid for my tickets and I have the right to leave whenever I please.  Someone saying I'm a bad or "fickle" fan doesnt do jack to me.  I put enough of my money into this team so that I can do whatever I want.

Here's the money for DirecTv.  8 more years of exclusive rights to the games, aprox 1.5 Billion $$$.

I just love how the people that sit at home tell the people that actually attend the game that they need to be more patient.

If you don't physically go to the game then please just shut the heck up about how the ticket holder should act or what they should post !!

You should know by now many Jaguars fans don't go to games because of where they live and how much money they have. I am one of them. That does not mean those people have no right to criticize the fans who do go to the game for leaving early.

In other words, eight more years of pretending nobody lives in duplex-style condos. When will they ever learn?

And those of us who pay for tickets, parking, food and drinks ( in other words, those of us who make having a team in Jax possible ) have the right to totally ignore those criticisms.

Frankly...  I have found many mostly older Jag fans that remain fans but no longer want to go to games....  Most of the so called improvements in the game-day experience are aimed at younger fans who view it as a party place as much as a place to watch a game...  Those fans who want to watch a game can watch it easier at home...  The main advantage for those fans are those moments when you can be part of the crowd to cheer the local team when good things happen... That's certainly the main reason I enjoy the games live...  But I enjoy being able to see the Red Zone screen or the TV's inside the club to follow other games..  I have no interest in the party zone or other areas that offer unlimited beer...    As soon as the Steelers made that first down after the 2 minute warning, my son and I bolted from our club seats and were in our car in 10 minutes on the way home and did beat the bulk of the traffic..  I also don't have a big problem with the Steeler fans... Happens everywhere....  Tony Romo had to use a silent count because of Texan fans at the Cowboys home stadium on Sunday...  Now in the case of the Texans, it was a once every 8 year opportunity to attend a regular season game at the Cowboys and it's not a tough trip...  They were saying that Cowboys fans sold their tickets at a fair profit as I'm sure Jag fans did as well...

Lol if you don't goto the games, you need to can the fickle fan talk. Those "fickle" fans put MASSIVE amounts of money into the franchise, and what do you contribute? The profit from the old Maurice Jones Drew jersey that is laying on the floor of your closet?

Before you think you're a better Jaguar fan because you theoritically wouldn't leave a game, you should actually GOTO one first.

I left early

We're seriously starting threads flaming people for leaving early? Really?

I was at the game, and I left with about 3 minutes left in the game. Flame on. I don't care. I was just thrilled the game wasn't over early in the second quarter like the last home game.

But I had stayed almost the entire game, and I had watched us kick field goals. I knew there was no way in hell we were scoring a touchdown, let alone a 2 point conversion afterwards. Our offense hadn't done a thing in the second half to give me a shred of hope. But I stayed until our next to last offensive series, waiting for the offense to show me SOMETHING. They didn't. At that point I was already quite sunburnt, so to save myself both future and present misery I left, knowing the outcome of the game was very unlikely to change. Imagine my surprise when I got back to the car and discovered we had, in fact, not been able to score a TD and lost the game. And yes, traffic was a breeze. I'm not apologizing for leaving early. I paid quite a bit for my season tickets, I chose to leave. The team didn't lose because I left early. They didn't need the fans to stay to stop the Steelers from running out the clock. By leaving early the only person who I adversely affected in any way was myself in the unlikely event that we made some miracle comeback and went into overtime. That was a risk I was willing to take. Hate on it all you want, at least I was there. Maybe we should worry about more important things than someone leaving 3 minutes early.

10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.
