Quote:We went from just wanting competitive, enjoyable games in week 1 to complete win now mode or else in week 6. Surprised? Not by this fanbase.

Don't group me in with the idiots who cry about the draft.  The draft is a lotto so it means squat to me on where they pick.  They just let 2 easy games slip away.  I doubt they surprise anyone beside the people expecting this team to win a couple of games.

Same here. For once, I was riveted to the game after the second half two minute warning. Heck, two weeks in a row they had a legitimate chance of winning.

Just curious: at what point is it ok to complain about losing? At what point do we say "ya know what. This young team should finally be producing wins and they're not"?

I am excited by what I see with Blake and the young WRs but some of this other stuff (Clemons lining up offsides twice, Shorts fumbling and poor time management) are things coming from our supposed "veterans."

FBT defended Jean Smiff but now blames his drafting for us having the youngest roster in the league after gutting the team of Smiff's turrible picks.

To answer your question, it is never OK to complain about losing because we are feeble minded fans who know 1/10 of what these coaches know.

Plus, we have our quarterback. He's the real deal. I'm giddy about that alone.

Quote:This team hasn't been blown out of a game in the last 2 games, and the margin has gotten smaller.  A last second field goal would have won it yesterday.  That's improvement.  That's competitive.

Pittsburgh isn't a horrible team.  At the time we faced them, they had the 4th rated offense in the league.  We held them well below their average for scoring and yards per game, and remained in that game almost to the very end.

I consider myself a reasonable fan.  I am not whining like some spoiled brat because they're not giving me the wins I think I deserve.  I look at this roster, see the second  youngest 53 man roster in the league, and I see us starting or relying on 6-7 rookies on one side of the ball.  Anyone expecting this team to somehow be a juggernaut right out of the gate with this roster wasn't being reasonable.  It was going to be ugly, and it was expected to gradually get better as the season progressed.  Guess what?  That's what we're seeing right now.
I think you are totally blind.

1. Pittsburgh is not a good team.  They have been very inconsistent and just got their butts handed too them by a very mediocre cleveland team without a franchise QB or their best player playing.

2. The titans were terrible and were 1-4 before they played us.  They were playing A very bad QB that looks like Jesus.

You see progress?  How can you say that when the opponents have been so bad.  If we don't get blown out by the browns then you may have something to back that out but two losses against horrible teams is not progress in my book.

We also got blown out by a 1-5 Redskin team....

Just like with the Gene Smith era it will be way too late then they will start crying.   I can't recall how many times FBT and his goonies would come and defend that loser and his plan to the death.  H\

One of the most alarming plays yesterday imo was when Whitehurst fumbled the ball after being hit by Will Blackmon. 3 Jags players were walking around with their head up their [BLEEP] and the Titans recovered.

That to me is equally on the coaching staff and the players. Should have been an easy FR.

Because the classic line is "These guys are paid to do this for a living so they clearly no more than we do...." I know I'm not a GM but selecting a punter in the 3rd round? I guarantee you that I could have done a better job drafting from 2008 to 2012 than Gene Smith.

Not to mention a punter who really isn't all that great.

I said it once before,  You could of put a monkey in the draft room and let him pick up a random ball and would of done better than that.

Caldwell has not been great in the draft either.  Bortles may save his job

I actually like Caldwells drafts and it looks like he hit on Bortles and thats really all you need.

I like Robinson at WR and Lee/Hurns could also be good. He has a lot of holes on defense and needs to find a playmaking TE.

We need to hit big in the next draft and put weapons around Blake.

Quote:Ok lets take a look here... Not sure where you are getting 11th from?

From that list it looks like we are 22nd. Which again... like I said is below average. You also can't solely base your passing offense by passing yards. Are the Rams really the 7th best passing team or are they just passing so much because they are behind? Are the Seahawks really the 31st best passing team in the league? No.

Our rushing offense is dead last.

This team is not totally devoid of talent I agree but it has so many holes. Oline, RB, LB, and secondary need work. QB and WRs are so young that at this moment, you don't really know.

There is only one unit that is doing above average and thats the Dline. I love where the QB is headed along with the WRs but they are not there yet.
This is how I know you didn't read my entire post, even though you said you did...

Go back and re-read it... I explained what BB5's yard per game is in his 3 starts... It's 260... Squeelers yards per game is 259...

It's an extrapolation, but it's one I feel shows how well our QB and WRs are doing with BB5 at the helm

It was an incomplete pass.

Gene's been gone for a couple of years now.  When do you plan on letting him go?  There are only a couple of remnants from his era.  That's a pretty good reason for why the team is struggling today with all of the roster turnover, particularly with much younger players filling starting roles.  So, when do you plan to move on from Gene?

All 3 guys instantaneously knew that and that is why nobody had any urgency to jump on it.

Do you grasp the difference between "defended" and indicating patience to allow the process to play itself out to make a determination about whether someone is doing an effective job or not?  Obviously not.  That's a rhetorical question.

You're more than welcome to whine to your heart's content about the losses.  Guess what?  It's not going to change a stinking thing.  All it will do is make you a miserable, whiny fan.  If that's what you prefer, have at it.
