Quote:Nobody was ever declaring Gene was a great GM, especially after his 2nd draft.  Still, they gave him the benefit of the doubt that he had a plan, and that he should be allowed to let it play out.  When it continued to flounder, nobody was hoping the team would keep him around.  Most people have moved on.  You clearly haven't because you bring him up with some regularity.

This GM has done everything he possibly could to fumigate the roster and move on from that era.  It's a shame some fans can't seem to follow suit.
But why give him the benefit of the doubt? He did nothing to give you that security.

I also agree that Caldwell is doing a good job but I'm not basing that or saying that just because he's our GM.

Quote:I remember the play and was extremely [BAD WORD REMOVED] it wasn't recovered.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why these people go out of their way to defend mediocrity like this. It is pretty amazing.

Even if it were ruled a fumble and we recover, the play would have been overturned.

LOL. I'm not lying you guys.  I'm calling it as I see it.

Here's Miller attempting to fall on the ball. ( yes - immediately!)   Next shot you can see it bouncing through his legs. Look to the left of his calf.

A lot of people were on the "IN GENE WE TRUST" bandwagon.  I'm not saying that you were.  But there certainly were plenty of people. I think it's fair to give people benefit of the doubt.  Though sometimes all doubt is removed in a single sweeping action.

I think Caldwell has done well enough so far.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

From what I remember from that play too was Walker was able to almost bounced the ball to himself. But it was a clear incomplete pass, not a fumble.

I think there were people on the bandwagon after his first draft and the team went 7-9. Whatever goodwill he had built up started going south when he took Alualu with the tenth pick.

Quote:This is down right laughable.  You come off as this fanbase should of expected to get blown out 4 out of their first 6 games and wind up 0-6.

Most people expected some progress after 2 offseaons.  If you want to chalk up 2 decent performances agiainst horrible teams as progress then you are easily satisfied. This team has sunk below expectations of even the most reasonable fans.

truth

Quote:This team hasn't been blown out of a game in the last 2 games, and the margin has gotten smaller.  A last second field goal would have won it yesterday.  That's improvement.  That's competitive.

Pittsburgh isn't a horrible team.....

Pittsburgh got blown out by Cleveland yesterday. We could only score 3 lousy FG's vs Pittsburgh.

Quote:Just curious: at what point is it ok to complain about losing? At what point do we say "ya know what. This young team should finally be producing wins and they're not"?

I am excited by what I see with Blake and the young WRs but some of this other stuff (Clemons lining up offsides twice, Shorts fumbling and poor time management) are things coming from our supposed "veterans."

IMO, time management/ game management is something that can be critiqued about the head coach as soon as last year, let alone as far along as this season.

That is not the point at all.

You can lie to yourself all you want. It was not immediate at all. Once he realized it was still a live ball he made an attempt at it.

is that Marks and Poz just watching?

It's was a half hearted play by most of the Jags. I remember being very critical of that play while it was happening.

Caldwell has done well enough so far. OTOH, Gus Bradley and most of the coaching staff, have failed miserably.

Most of the message boarders you claim to be embracing mediocrity are actually paying customers of the team. You literally have zero investment in the team.

And yes, that does mean something.

When it comes to real life underachievers, none can hold a candle to you, cookie.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Let's be real. 1 second is a long time to sit there and not do anything.

HAHA.  You guys are killing me and totally fooling yourselves. You just love to have something to whine over.

Now- I want you to look really closely at this last one I'll spoon feed you.

This is Miller CLEARLY breaking to the ball as it leaves clipboard's hand.  Like I said IMMEDIATELY.  Bunch of stubborn mules….
