FSU Hindered Winston Investigation, Per FOX Sports

I am just glad it wasn't the SEC biased ESPN that broke the story...

Again, nothing in that Fox Sports report is anything we didn't already know. People act like this is some sort of breaking news when these newest "reports" come out.
I'm not going to sit here and defend Jameis anymore, though. It's pointless. People's minds are already made up.

Somebody wake me up when both FSU and the NCAA officially clears, or charge Winston.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

I posted this in the Bigjohn "FSU did nothing wrong" thread.
FSU fans seem to be confusing the issue here. It's not about Jameis anymore. It's about how the police and school handled it.
Quote:I posted this in the Bigjohn "FSU did nothing wrong" thread. There is no confusion. TPD screwed up the investigation. Winston has not been charged with sexual assault.

Quote:There is no confusion. at this point its clear FSU screwed up and will probably be handed down punishment. there still is the federal investigation ongoing that might wind up with charges for jameis. there is also the independent hearing that is going to take place... i think this upcoming week? i cant recall.

To clarify: Title IX has investigated 50 universities for the same thing they are investigating FSU for; failure to follow the new Title IX policies. They have never handed down a punishment.
I haven't heard of any federal investigation on Jameis, link? The independent hearing is at the request of Jameis' attorney. Once FSU started it's Title IX investigation into the incident for student conduct, it is REQUIRED by law to have a hearing to see if charges will be filed. Jameis' attorney asked that FSU appoint an independent to hold the hearing since FSU has a conflict of interest. If they did not charge Jameis with something, that could affect the Title IX investigation into the university. FSU appointed three possible independent arbitrators, Jameis' side gets to eliminate one and the accuser's side gets to eliminate one. Basically, none of the stuff you're hearing about is particularly troubling if you're familiar with the evidence and the process.
In a letter sent to Winston and his attorney, FSU interim president Garnett Stokes and vice president for student affairs Mary B. Coburn notified Winston he might be charged with as many as four violations of FSU's student conduct code, two of which involve sexual conduct.
Winston has five school days to contact the FSU Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities to schedule an information hearing. At that time he will be advised about his rights and the upcoming student conduct hearing. According to student government rules, the student conduct hearing would be held as soon as possible after the information hearing and will determine whether Winston is charged. The hearing is for internal discipline. Criminal charges cannot directly result. But if found guilty, Winston -- who led FSU to a 14-0 record and the BCS national championship last season -- could be either reprimanded or face expulsion from the university. http://www.sunshinestatenews.com/story/d...fsu-future the hearing wasnt requested by his attorney, the university decided on that.

Let me clarify further. The INDEPENDENT part was requested by his attorney. The hearing is mandated for whenever a Title IX investigation takes place.

Quote:There is no confusion. I'd think it would be kind of hard to either clear or charge a person when the police are doing everything they can to keep that from happening.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:LOL. So, so clueless. So EVERYONE investigating this story is wrong and only YOU know the truth? Please. You so need to get over your obvious homerism and admit the police tried to cover something up. You aren't making yourself look good by continually denying what's being brought to light in this case. At this point you are just standing there with your fingers in your ears and going "la la la...I'm not listening".

You aren't making yourself look good by continually denying what's being brought to light in this case. Maybe YOU need to get your head out of your [BLEEP] and read some of the 86 page SAO report instead of listening to what ESPN and the New York Times tells you, because people who have followed the case closely know that they are leaving out facts of the case because it doesn't fit their agenda. Here, I'll even help you out and link it for you, even though you won't look at it. http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/Inv...Part+I.pdf http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/Inv...dacted.pdf http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/Newlin's+Investigative+Report-redacted1.pdf It's amazing that all these idiots act like FSU and the TPD tried to cover something up because an investigation wasn't done immediately. Well, it's kind of hard to do an investigation when you have an accuser who won't cooperate and couldn't even identify Jameis until a month after this so called "rape" happened. Originally, she described Jameis as a 5'9-5'11 male and that he weighed about 240 lbs. Then a month later, she magically remembers that "oh, it was Jameis Winston." NOTHING in her story adds up with the evidence collected in the investigation. Her story changed MULTIPLE TIMES. But yet, there was a cover up. Yeah, ok. ![]() Again, I don't even know why I bother. You, like badger, already have your mind made up. |
