Being Realistic

Quote:No it is not but whatever. This board wears you out over time lol. The same arguments every year. I'll just wait. Hopefully one day this team will stop being the worst team ever. Yes it is. It rebuilt after the salary cap mess, then it rebuilt after Shack was fired, and finally it rebuilt for the 3rd time after Gene Smith was canned. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Well, we said we were going to build through draft. Gratz was not a good late round pick. I will agree that I think Caldwell has done a decent job overall in drafting.
Not sure why everyone is so mad.
We have a franchise qb finally...the wins are on their way. Enjoy... Quote:No i see complaining all over the place but I have yet to see an actual plan of action from this point forward. If you have one I gladly read it.Customers complain when the product is trash. You do know this is a business that goes out to the communities and try to get people to spend money on that trash product? Don't know why you have a problem with people doing so. Seems like your beef is with people who supports this crap and get mad at it instead of the crap that shows up every Sunday.

Ok so being realistic here we go, our record says we suck, and we are only as good as our record says we are, now dipping a little deeper than that, we have our QB of the future and I do believe that our receivers will grow into the crazy bunch of highlights that we've all hoped for, our LB core needs a revamp for sure, but here is where I probably differ from most, yes we have gutted our whole team but the truth is the starters we trotted out in years past would barely be back ups on other rosters so then our back ups were barely NFL caliber depth becomes a huge issue, so now realistically we have to not only find quality starters but find back ups that are worth something, many players now on the roster may just be place holders until we find solid starters, so Jags fans it may seem bleak now but I promise the sun will come out tomorrow, or at least before Jeff Fisher has a sniff at another Super Bowl
A good loser is a good loser
Quote:The wins would already be happening with a better coaching staff. At least some. Possibly. But I have so much faith in Bortles he will be able to overcome a lot of incompetence going forward. We only need to get slightly better around him
Quote:Yes it is. It rebuilt after the salary cap mess, then it rebuilt after Shack was fired, and finally it rebuilt for the 3rd time after Gene Smith was canned. No, according to him it only counts as a rebuild if the new GM decides to cut the previous regimes best veterans. If there are still good players left over, it doesn't count as a rebuild until the whole thing is burned to the ground.

Don't know why you have a problem with people doing so. Seems like your beef is with people who supports this crap and get mad at it instead of the crap that shows up every Sunday. My beef is people feel entitled to a winning team every year. I understand sports. Sometimes teams suck for a long time then get good then suck again. Believe it or not we were good at one point. Now its our time to be bad and this may have to happen for a bit longer. I need to realize some people don't have much experience understanding the game just because they haven't watched that much ball. Or they get tired of people talking trash about their team. The Saints used to suck and the Lakers do suck. It just sports and thats just what happens. When did we ever think teams like the Saints, Seahawaks and Bengals would be good and team like Pittsburgh and the Atlanta would struggle now. This is happening over time. It will be our time again. Quote:Yes it is. It rebuilt after the salary cap mess, then it rebuilt after Shack was fired, and finally it rebuilt for the 3rd time after Gene Smith was canned. You of all people should know what a rebuild is. You know good and well what Gene Smith did was not a rebuild. I'll give you shack but it was not to this level. The people running the team may have used those terms but you and I know those were not rebuilds.
Quote:No i see complaining all over the place but I have yet to see an actual plan of action from this point forward. If you have one I gladly read it. Since you asked: "From this point forward" is accepting what was done in the past two years. I think a lot of mistakes were made in 2013. Here are the criticisms that I posted several times before. These are not hindsight, I posted them back in 2013. 1. Using the 2nd overall pick on the one position where the Jags had a good young building block. The trade the Dolphins gave for the 3rd pick would have been preferable. This mistake was compounded by trading Monroe for peanuts. Caldwell took the first offer he got rather than shopping Monroe around. 2. Failure to sign one of the seven(!) young good RTs in 2013 free agency. I would have gone after Andre Smith as my top choice. 3. Hiring a head coach with no previous head coaching experience. My choices at the time were (in order) Jon Gruden, Arians, and Reid. Reid was probably already lost to KC. Maybe none would have agreed, but Caldwell could have at least tried. None were interviewed. 4. Given that Bradley was hired, and had no previous experience as a head coach, at least find some coordinators with successful NFL resume's. I was more than happy with the 2014 free agency and draft. No complaints there. I know some people are not happy with Gerhart, but I personally think it's mostly a problem with the OL. Hitting on Bortles (and from what I've seen so far I believe he's going to be elite) compensates for a lot of mistakes. A. One thing the Jags can still do is replace the coordinators (or at least Babich). Gus can take over the defense for the rest of the season. B. Signing Incognito would be another. I know a lot of people might disagree with that, but I don't see him as being a problem. If he becomes one he can be cut easily enough. It's not like he could hurt our W-L record this year. would be easier to BE PATIENT is we could win 1 or 2 freaking games... I'm tired of the rebuild, re-boot, wait, it'll get better, be patient.. etc
Losses are losses. what if it doesnt get better? what if we dont win a game this year.. what if were 0-6 next year....?? When does it get to the point where u cut your losses and entice a REAL coach here? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Complete as in what? Complete as in making the playoffs AND actually winning a playoff game. That's what I mean by complete.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:The wins would already be happening with a better coaching staff. At least some. Unfortunately, I actually believe this. It's unfortunate because I like Gus and want him to succeed here, but so far in his head coaching career, he has been disappointing, imo.
