Draft
|
Quote:There isn't many quality OL players this draft as in the past. I'd rather get another star for offense, fix some defensive holes, and the following year get more OL. The top rated OL are RT's. Defense is very important this draft as there is a lot of players coming out. I haven't gotten a chance to specifically look at a whole lot of the offensive linemen yet, but there are plenty of them. It's a normal draft class as far as offensive linemen go. However, there may not be any stud guards... But I still have to watch them some more... That's why I really like La'el Collins as a LG instead of at tackle. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:I think we'll know a lot more about him when he's the primary feature back next year. He does have a lot of Trent Richardson in him, but then again, I was very high on Richardson as well. .....he is an inch shorter than fred and is known for being a strong runner.... i wouldnt compare him to fred but yeah, freddy t was definitely faster and had more moves. saying someone doesnt have as much talent as fred is kind of a no brainer. he was a very gifted player, doesnt mean that storm cant play in this league, especially when almost every team runs a rb by commitee type system now. storm can be 1 part and then a shifty, speedy guy would be the other.

Quote:.....he is an inch shorter than fred and is known for being a strong runner.... i wouldnt compare him to fred but yeah, freddy t was definitely faster and had more moves. He's still 6'0" which is very tall for a running back. My comparison was that Fred was a very hesitant runner behind the LOS. He got away with it because of his elite talent. Storm, so far, has been a hesitant runner behind the LOS and lacks the talent to make up for it. Quote:He's still 6'0" which is very tall for a running back. Quote:Gurley is a great player, but I believe you can get good running backs later in the draft like Duke Johnson, TJ Yeldon, Mike Davis, or Melvin Gordon. Derrick Henry the next year will be every bit as good as Gurley as well. .......... 1. AP, demarco murray, marshawn lynch, all right around 6' tall. 2. youre the dude that just said gurley is a great player and henry will be just as good and gurley is 6'1, and henry is even taller!! so im not sure what youre getting at haha

Quote:.......... Umm, I never knocked tall running backs. Not sure where you are getting that I did. I compared him to Fred Taylor, who was also a tall running back and you said he was shorter... Which he is, but he is still 6'0" tall - tall like Fred. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Umm, I never knocked tall running backs. 6' is tall for a running back. He's tall. I have no issues with tall running backs.
It's just a misinterpretation I guess. Quote:6' is tall for a running back. He's tall. I have no issues with tall running backs. oh alright, my bad then.

The dilemma the Jaguars will have is that most of our "needs" don't fit your typical Top 3 pick profile. When you're drafting that high, you ideally would want a QB (got one), a LT (got one, but he's even worse as a RT so you can't flip him), and DE.
I think DE is the best possibility, with Clemons being 32 yrs old. Free Safety's don't typically go that high, and don't even get started on Centers and guards. While the value of RBs has lessened, I'm not sure that we are at the stage of building a roster that we can just simply pass up on a legit talent like Gurley. How in the holy hell can someone deem who's an NFL calibur RB and who isn't with the little amount of playing that Storm has seen? Some of ya'll are just plain [BLEEP].. Give the man a chance before claiming what he is or isn't. cheesinrice...

Quote:No, you're plain [BLEEP] for not giving the man a chance before giving up on him. I haven't given up on him. He hasn't done anything to warrant the reigns being turned over to him in the future. He's a 7th round pick who hasn't flashed. I suggest that you hold a player to a standard in which he earns a roster spot, let alone a starting position. Point blank - he hasn't shown me anything and the train is leaving the station next season. If he turns it around by the end of the year, then I'm still looking for another running back unless he has a spectacular second half to the season; unlikely.
Teams to potentially trade up for Mariota:
-Jets, if they give up on Geno -Titans (if they're the trade, I hope we charge a premium) -Buccaneers (if they're not sold on Glennon) -Rams (If they're ready to give up on Bradford) -Cardinals (This would probably get us the most)
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Teams to potentially trade up for Mariota:I think the Cards can afford to give us the most. They are a pretty solid team that is looking for a franchise qb to replace Palmer so i could see them shelling out the picks to trade up. However, the other teams may be in desperation mode enough so that they could too throw out a good offer.

I suggest that you hold a player to a standard in which he earns a roster spot, let alone a starting position. He's had a GRAND TOTAL of 14 attempts. He's barely been on the field.. Holy damn.. How in the hell can he flash with 14 attempts behind this o-line?!? 14 Attempts, 48 yards and 1 TD.. Good lord.. Turkey Tarded.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:He's had a GRAND TOTAL of 14 attempts. He's barely been on the field.. Holy damn.. How in the hell can he flash with 14 attempts behind this o-line?!? And with that combined with his preseason he has still shown absolutely nothing to merit moving forward with him as the team's future feature back. He has the season to show me more than he has, but like I said, unless he proves he's an NFL starter by season's end, then any person with half a brain wouldn't put their eggs in the Storm basket and would actively be looking for other players who may be able to get the job done. But go ahead, crown the Chauncey Washington's of the world as your feature back without ever having seen anything good from him. Go back to fantasy land where all of your team's players are stars in the making.
Quote:And with that combined with his preseason he has still shown absolutely nothing to merit moving forward with him as the team's future feature back. Go back to your Madden and Hot Pockets. Then you can get rid of who ever you like. Until then, suck it up fanboy cause he's here to stay until proven otherwise, whether you like it or not.. 14 attempts.. I stand by my initial comment, you're [BLEEP]..

I never said I wanted him gone. I just have brain enough to realize anyone relying on a 7th round pick without ever having seen good play from him is a few beans short of a chalupa. Take off your teal colored glasses and realize the team doesn't have secret superstars. Stick to your creepy clown pron and porcelain dolls, sociopath. |
