Who do you think will run for President in 2016?
|
Quote:LOL - in today's "I'm a better Republican than you!" climate Abraham Lincoln would be called a RINO. Abraham Lincoln would be a democrat in today's political world he was big on a strong federal union. As for Cruz I'm not sure he is even able to run he was born outside the country correct? Who do you support for the nomination big guy? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Relatability matters to a lot of people. It's why George W. Bush, despite his failings, managed to beat John Kerry in the election. Democrats didn't realize "Anybody but Bush!" meant they had to put up someone who's actually likable. And John Kerry was not likable. Or relatable. You nailed it. And the worst is, if you don't side yourself/affiliate with one party or the other, blowhards from both parties will attack you. If you aren't democratic or republican enough then both sides hate you.

I honestly want either Ron Paul or Hillary. I think both of them will do a pretty solid job, even if they are ideologically a lot different.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Quote:Abraham Lincoln would be a democrat in today's political world he was big on a strong federal union. You don't have to be born in the US to be President. You just have to be born a US citizen. John McCain was born in Panama. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
If it comes down to Jeb Bush vs Hilliary Clinton in 2016, I will have officially lost all faith in the political establishment of this Country. 24 out of the last 32 Presidential terms will have been divided between only two American families. That's not Democracy, and that sure as heck is not a Republic. That my friends...is an Oligarchy.
The irony behind all of this of course, is that the news media constantly criticizes Country's like Russia for having these oligarchical forms of Government, while at the same time; ignoring the undeniable fact that our Country is virtually becoming one itself. Quote:You don't have to be born in the US to be President. You just have to be born a US citizen. gotcha, makes sense. Quote:Abraham Lincoln would be a democrat in today's political world he was big on a strong federal union. I favor the former Indiana governor, but he's too smart (apparently) to get involved. Knowing how stupid both political parties are it wouldn't surprise me to see both nominate right or left wing ideologues - Warren for the Dems and Cruz or Paul for the Repubs. It would be so easy to make Warren look like a Bolshevik and Cruz to look like a Klan Kleegle. Paul would spend his whole campaign have to explain away his loony old man.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
Quote:One of the names left off of the Democrat list is Elizabeth Warren. If there ever was a worse candidate than our current President it would be her. There is a lot of support for her in the younger generation,.... The younger generation base just about EVERYTHING on that. Its how they grew up and the behavior was enabled. Of course that's based on what I know today and my opinion could change.
Quote:The younger generation base just about EVERYTHING on that. Its how they grew up and the behavior was enabled. So you're saying your generation crapped the bed by not knowing how to properly raise children? Cool.
Quote:So who do you like? Honestly, I care much less about the presedential election than I do about local and state politics. I'll let you know which 2016 POTUS candidate I like best when time gets closer. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Honestly, I don't think there's a politician out there that shares my views on some of the most important (to me) issues. That goes for the state level as well. Makes me feel like my vote is worth nothing.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Makes me feel like my vote is worth nothing. I hear you. That's why I like looking at issues on a case by case basis rather than buying into a politician or party. Eric can criticize that all he wants, but I find it very logical. Quote: So on your case by case analysis who did you last vote for?
In 2008 I voted for McCain, in 2012 I didn't vote for a presidential candidate because I didn't care for anyone on the ballot.

Quote:In 2008 I voted for McCain, in 2012 I didn't vote for a presidential candidate because I didn't care for anyone on the ballot. nope I was in the same boat as you. I voted McCain in 2008 and was planning on voting Gary Johnson in 2012 ended up voting Romney on the hopes we could at least avoid a 2nd Obama term. edit: it was actually right after the 2012 election I started looking around and ended up switching to the Libertarian party. My disgust with the GOP just became to much to handle. I'll change my registration back to the GOP for the primaries leading up to 2016 but then it's back to the Libertarian party for me.
Quote:So who do you like? yeah....sure you did... I ain't buyin' it. ![]() Obama/ insert democrat here - all the way for people like you.
Quote:yeah....sure you did... I ain't buyin' it.What do you mean "people like him"? Jtmoney has sided with conservative ideas on this forum before, too. |
