We have found our RB. Thanks Slowby

Quote:I'm not saying Toby is better than Denard. I'd just caution from proclaiming our run game as fixed after this one game. Denard has also struggled in YPC prior to this, so I'm taking a wait & see attitude until YPC like yesterday becomes a trend for Denard.
This is where I sit right now too. I don't think Gerhart is the answer but I'd still wait to see Denard do it consistently. It helped with the Browns front banged up. I also caution it because our O-Line hasn't been consistent enough yet either. Hopefully the young line is coming around.

Rather than all this back-biting about comparisons, why can't we just celebrate the fact that we have 2 RBs of different styles who are tools at our disposal? These MB slap fights over who's the better arm chair GM and evaluator of talent is just silly.

Whoa people.

I agree that one game doesn't prove anything.

Any more than our D folding a few games and then playing like last years Seahawks. Playing hard for 4 quarters.

Yesterday's OLine played better, and the Browns D isnt bad.

But a RBBC looks to be the future. Gerharts ankle was hurt the first game. The time off should help.

Let's see when he returns.

Hopefully with him, Robinson and Storm...the team can take some heat off Blake.

Toby showed cut back ability in Minnesota (albeit not as sudden as Denard).

Toby's also been playing hurt since the Eagles game.

Lets just see if the better YPC continues next week vs Miami.

DRob finally got enough carries.

Because that's what you do on MB's you talk about, debate, etc on things like this. No harm done in it.

Gerhart just does not hit the hole hard.

DRob has at least been doing that consistently. He runs harder than any other guy we have. Plus he has speed to hit a home run.

Yeah I believe I heard he had 22 carries yesterday.  Including yesterday's game he has a total of 70 carries for his career.

In order to rebuild, you have to destroy.

Of course, you aren't on the team I cheer for; you're just a simpleton with a 10 year old's mentality.

I don't see Denard as a consistent 20 carry RB. I don't think he'd last long w/o getting broken.

I hope he can, but he looked beat at the end.

I think Gerhart was likely battling injuries.  That among other factors led to the incredibly poor performance.  Denard ran clearly better that he ever has, but you wonder how much of that came from the Brown's gameplan after watching our offense the previous game.

Its Dennards job to lose now. Anyone disagree?

From now on unless needed, no back should have more carries than Drob.. Todman and Storm can fight for scraps.

In zone blocking schemes, vision is key. Denard's two best attributes are his vision and his speed.

Sure.  But "Slowby Gerhorse" will be back, he will play hard, and he will try to take the job back.   And he just might do it, because Dave and Gus obviously saw something in him that they liked enough to sign him, and personally, I don't think he's had much of a chance to show what he can do.

Let him come back and try. Competition is a great thing. Let the best Drob win..

Quote:Na, DRob debunked its not scheme.

Toby just aint got cut back abilities
Slowby must have been playing thru an injury because he couldnt power thru runs as he is claimed to be good at, and he couldnt cut & he seemed very slow...
