Has Jedd Fisch ruined Blake Bortles Confidence?
|
Yup, he's ruined. Cut bait now on Bortles, fire Fisch and start over! Throw deep on every pass play. Offense fixed!

Quote:Blake had a couple of occasions where the wide outs were open deep and he threw short instead... Yep. Saw one play where both Hurns and Shorts were running open deep and Bortles must have been looking short as he's been commanded to by Fisch and Bortles never saw them. If thats pre-season or should I say pre-San Diego 2nd half Bortles, he's hitting either one of them for a long gainer (and maybe a TD) Quote:Yep. Saw one play where both Hurns and Shorts were running open deep and Bortles must have been looking short as he's been commanded to by Fisch and Bortles never saw them.Yup, i'm sure that's it.
Quote:[quote name="cland" post="337708" timestamp="1413816424"] The first INT was a result of Bortles holding the ball too long. The other 2 were bone headed mistakes. All three fall on Bortles. He's learning I don't know why people insist on coddling him by making excuses and putting the blame on other players. This is who Bortles is right now but he will improve. At least I believe he will. I don't think he will ever be a clean int QB though. He's too aggressive, which will be a high risk high reward identity.

He was being chased down by two defenders and doing everything he could to avoid a sack. Damn him for not flinging it 40 yards downfield
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I might be off here, but I don't think you can have a very aggressive QB who also remains "clean." By definition, a risk-taking QB is going to make some dicey throws and get picked. As long as the team can limit the impact of these mistakes (like they did yesterday) we'll be fine. That red zone INT though, I was sitting in my chair screaming "Just run it in!" ![]()

Bortles is a gunslinger, gotta live with his mistakes.
Henne cant make that throw to AR Quote:Yep. Just couldn't resist could you? And you were doing so well up until now.

People like to jump on everyone the minute your slightly critical. But yes I understand that Borltes will probably always have issues with INT's because he is going to challenge and expect play makers to make plays. It's very refreshing because that's what winning QB's have to have. But the bone headed ones are the one's that are concerning. All we have to do is hope that he takes something away from each one as a learning tool. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Bortles is a gunslinger, gotta live with his mistakes. I can live with the mistakes if he's actually being a gunslinger. Throwing a high volume of short passes doesn't make you a gunslinger though. Quote:Like clockwork. So according to TMD, Fisch instructs him to throw shallow even when the deep ball is open. Makes sense to me. Why gain lots of yards when you can gain little! Quote:So according to TMD, Fisch instructs him to throw shallow even when the deep ball is open. Makes sense to me. Quote:So according to TMD, Fisch instructs him to throw shallow even when the deep ball is open. Makes sense to me. Why gain lots of yards when you can gain little! Because Fisch is overreacting to Bortles INT's so far and now he's discouraging Blake from taking the deeper chances as much. Hence you get the exmples of WR running open deep and Bortles not seeing them, since he's looking short most of the time now like a game mgr. Thats what Fish wants. A game mgr. You don't make a lick of sense.
Sorry, but I think anyone trying to have Blake figured out after four flipping NFL starts is out of their mind. It's utterly absurd.
He's a rookie with lots, and lots of promise and a line that is just beginning to figure out how to give him time on maybe half of his drop-backs. He hasn't established any trend, and no one is ruining him. I think its mind-numbingly silly to think these things. The kid is fine. And he's probably gonna' be a really good QB for this team for a long, long time. .

The complexity of the 3-4 zone blitz scheme confuses young QB's, Blake Struggled against the Steelers and Browns, both employ a similar defense. It has nothing to do with Jedd Fisch, Blake is taking his lumps like most rookie QB's.
