Bill O Brien's post-game presser keeps it REAL after a loss, compared to Gus Badly's "positive" [BAD ...

Nope. I have never told people here what I do for a living. You, however, disclosed to the board that you are a FRY COOK with no college education. And yet, you hold professionals at the top of their field to such high standards. Shame you didn't hold yourself to such standards...

Congrats TMD!!!

He met with his manager and threw a BOB style tantrum about how working the fryers and scrubbing toilets is NOT Acceptable anymore. The manager thought "hmmmm this guy is a true leader. I should promote him to grill duty."

Expectations for jax and hou rosters are completely different. O'Brien should be upset with the way his roster/himself has performed. With the talent level on that team regardless of their record last year, Hou should be performing at a higher level. Where as the expectation of the Jax roster should be lower. The coaching staff is still in development mode, still trying to build up the mental and physical aspects of the team. Bradley blasting the team and showing frustration would go against his self and his message. This would quickly lose the locker room.

The dynamics of both rosters are completely different, and expectations and coaching styles should be different. Bradley is the correct coach currently to build this team up from the ground.

Quote:You do realize that we are exactly two plays away (1 in each game - Pitt and tenn) from being 3-4 and a "few" plays away from being 4-3?

If O'Brien is a quality coach based on having his team (with Watt, Foster, and Johnson) a play or two away from 4-3, how is Bradley a significantly worse coach from having his team exactly two plays away from 3-4 without any players that can even be included in a conversation with the three mentioned from the Texans?

Now factor in all the rookies starting on offense, and tell me a coach that is a handful of plays away from 4-3 is a [BAD WORD REMOVED] coach, but I'm sure that's only if his last name ends in Radley.

Yes, you can also say that the Jags are 2 plays away from 3-4 as mentioned above, with a lesser team then the Texans, talent-wise.

Yes, O'brien's team (3-4) has more talent then the  Gus' (1-6) Jags team right now, nobody can dispute that, although saying the Jags are "without any players" (Marks, Red B, T. Smith and a few others) could be disputed.

What is being discussed in here is the level of disappointment after a tough loss, by each coach.

Now what Gus says and does behind closed doors, none of us know, but:

After the 2 most recent Jags close losses, Gus was about the same as any other of his 18 career losses, "we missed some opportunties out there" we have to work on some things" , "we have to get better" and so on.

After the Texans loss, O'Brien showed his disappointment and let everyone (players, fans and media) know that the way they played out there was unacceptable and wouldn't be tolerated. We also don't know what he said behind closed doors either.

Now I fully realize that there are different ways to coach a team and a HC has to find the right buttons to push to get the most out of his team, but I liked what I saw from O'Brien after the game. I just did. He told it like it was and I like that. It could have been built up frustration and disappointment after a 3rd straight 1 score loss after starting the season 3-1, but whatever it was, I like it.

Gus has had an 8 game losing streak and a 6 game losing streak and I haven't seen that level of disappointment from him 1 time.

I just happen to think that kind of HC will have more overall success then a HC who is rah rah rah all the time.

I like Gus, heck, everyone likes Gus, I just think that sometimes you have to show that you are disappointed in the results sometimes if you want to get better results.

If the players love Gus as much as we hear they do, they will NOT want to disappoint him and they will focus and play their best for him every single snap.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

1. thats a real cowards reply.

2. youre not going to get me paranoid. you dont even know my name, and i dont know yours, so how would that work?

3. i would never try to get someone fired from their job, especially over something said on a message board.

4. just to put it all on the table, when i get paid halloween weekend, ill even post a photo of my paycheck on here. it will say advance/newhouse on it because theyre the parent company that owns bright house. maybe then youll actually have the gall to tell us what you actually do.

edit: assuming my direct deposit doesnt kick in. if it does ill post my ID badge or something.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I disagree with TMD a lot, but to try and make fun of his place of employment (if it's even true, which he says it's not) is out of line.  It doesn't matter if he's a fry cook, a janitor, or a doctor.  That's an unnecessary personal attack.  There's nothing wrong with someone who is a fry cook in the first place.  Or any other job for that matter.

I get Achilles asking him where he works, especially since TMD asked him first.  But others are just attacking him with little to no basis because they disagree with his opinion.  Surely you can find a way to refute his arguments without resorting to demeaning people.

I think he's set the bar low for Bill O'Brien. While he expects the impossible out of Gus Bradley with a team that's inexperienced.  But whatever his job is (or isn't) has nothing to do with that.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
