You do realize we recruited the top 5 QB in the nation recently to play when Jameis leaves. Jimbo is an Amazing recruiter and FSU could be a dominant team going forward. Just reloading.

I remember when Driskell was #1 at his position.

C'mon Trav. Didn't Ms. Adams back at OPHS teach you the difference between they're and their?

Back to the discussion at hand, recruiting a lot of blue chips means you'll be pretty darn good a large majority of the time. And FSU has been doing that.

I didn't have her, but I had the great Ms. Brannon. She would be upset, and I am a bit upset at myself anyway for it. Not to mention that that rule is waaay before high school!

You do realize....lol nah im just messing with ya. Yes its true there is no guarantee for success, but it sure doesn't hurt having all those highly ranked players on your roster.

and it also helps that they aren't coached by Muschump.

Weird.  When people say "I love it" ironically, that annoys me.

Yeah.... We are talking about guys coming out of high school here. Banking on them for success, individually, is ridiculous.

However, banking on several top recruiting classes in a row for success is playing the odds. I know too much about chaos theory to bet on streaks, but I'd bet individually on any year in the next four years that FSU will be in the top 10 at the end of the season.

As long as Jimbo is running the show, you can bet on that. He's the best talent evaluator in college football.

Yeah, I'm not arguing overall talent, I was saying that you're hedging your bet on a high school quarterback that's rated highly.

Then instead of that we somehow jumped to the overall recruiting class.

Also that last statement is uneducated hyperbole.

Prove me wrong.

-Xavier Rhodes comes in to FSU as a receiver. Jimbo convinced him he'd be a better fit at corner and he becomes a first round pick three years later.

-Finds this little known player in Connecticut named Bjoern Werner, signs him, and three years later he's a first round pick.

-Finds a 2* running back in south Florida named Devonta Freeman, who was being recruited by no one, who becomes a consistent running back for 3+ years.

-Convinces Cam Erving to move from DT to LT. I'd say that looked to be another good call.

That's just a few examples.

All you're doing is talking about one person. I agree with you that he's good at what he does.

My main point is neither you or I know every coach or talent evaluator in the country.

There are a lot of guys that work at smaller programs and make more out of the recruiting scraps they get than these big time top 10-15 programs.

In the ACC, they should be too.

it's cyclical, and right now FSU is on top.

At some point in the future, they will drop and some other team will be on top.

That's just how it works.

Look at Alabama, it happens to all the great teams, they will drop as another teams rises.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
