Slightly raisedend (dammit!)

Very surprising/encouraging because the green market fell quite a bit this year. And quite a weight off my mind. Imagine if you found out your 2014 salary on Oct 22, 2014... Seems crazy doesn't it?

Quote:I went into a Panera Bread this morning, first time I've ever been in one. Reminded me of Starbucks, full of female apparatuses and yuppies. Never again..

And what exactly is a female apparatus? Is it the one she yields for power and control, or one she uses on herself?

The life of a farmer. I would never make it.

Btw, when I was there the Fresno Bee did a story about a raisin farmer who started as a migrant worker from subcontinental Asia and worked his way up to damn near monopolizing the raisin business in the tri-counties area. Is he still around? (if you know who I'm talking about) I don't know why, but that story always stuck in my head. A pretty remarkable guy.

Sorry HB, I have no clue. I barely keep up with the goings-on in my own neighborhood. It doesn't surprise me though, there are a lot of stories like that here. In the 70's, 80's and early 90's you could practically determine your own size/wealth. Now, with the water situation and resulting land prices... It's a little harder but it still happens fairly often.

Especially for those that will do all their own work, like that fella most likely did, and are willing to gamble on themselves a bit.

He must have because I saw him a couple of times on his tractor sporting a beard and a turban. That was when big stretches of 41 were still two lanes.

I still miss the valley sometimes. I hope your crop prices pay well.

With some guys it's just in their blood to be out there in the field. My neighbor to the west is a very wealthy guy, and he switched his vineyard over to an orchard a few years ago. I saw him out there one day doing his own replants (a week of shoveling basically) and I had to stop the dang tractor and give him a hard time about it. He must have over 25 employees yet there he was digging 500 one foot by three foot holes for a week.

Thanks for the well wishes HB, I think it's going to be an exciting year for me. Oh.... And 41 is still mostly two lanes!

I know man, my health insurance also going to go up. Maybe by as much as €150 for the year. If I didn't get the raise in May and in September and another in next January I don't know how I would even make ends meet without reducing my monthly savings deposit.

First post with my new phone. It's also the ever first website I bookmarked.

I need to get a life. And tomorrow I won't get anything done because I'll be fiddling with this thing all day.

Galaxy S4. Android is okay,I guess. Still exploring. I've discovered that a user's options are pretty limited without a Google account.

For the last time, I am not an alcoholic! I am a professional drinker. And when I get a sponsorship and millions of dollars, you'll be eating your words.
