Colvin to practice

I'm just waiting for the "fire gus Bradley for rushing a future allpro corner back too soon hoping to save his own job" thread from TMD

Why do some people here think that its "rushing him back" to return after 9 months? That's average time for recovery. Sure, it takes longer than 9 months to regain strength AND confidence, but guess what? You have to return to the field before you can regain any confidence. They are limiting him, hes not going full and hes NOT playing in this weeks game. He probably wont even play until after the bye week and that's if they think hes ready for the season at all. This is another step in the process, let it play out. There is a scientific method to determining knee strength, its not just if the players says he "feels the knee strength is back 100%". There is literally a TEST for this kind of stuff. If the team trainers and independent doctors have cleared him to practice then guess what? They feel it is in his best interest to get back out there and get back into football. They determined that his knee was ready to play on. No more amount of waiting is going to fix anything further, its just the next step.

Speculation. What else?

He took 9 months to recovery from a torn ACL. It usually takes 9 month just to get full range-of-motion, much less coming back and being one of the best athletes in the NFL.

We also see how professional bodybuilders proclaim "being clean", but how many of them do you believe? Besides, look at Peterson. He's 215-220 lbs and looks like he weighs 250 lbs with ~5% body fat? Not happening naturally.

I don't even disagree with your opinion on the topic, but Peterson is 'roiding so I don't believe he's a good example to support your argument.

Takes 9 months to regain full range of motion?

I work with patients that have full range of motion after 2 weeks sometimes.

Chris Clemons tore his ACL in the playoffs with Seattle in January. He was back on the field week 3 of the new season in September.

8 months and a couple weeks. And that's for an older player.

Fair enough. I read it from different websites that talked about regaining use in the knee, so I'm not very familiar I suppose.

Rasheen Mathis tore his ACL November 2011. He was cleared to return to practice June 2012.

Jeremy Maclin tore his ACL late July 2013. He was given a clean bill of health April 2014.

Just by those examples Colvin is right on schedule.

Thanks for those examples.

Really am curious to see how some people will spin this once again.

Based of.....speculation. Riiiiiiight. I also named Rod Woodson who went from torn ACL to Super Bowl in 19 weeks.

Also, maybe he is juicing but those measurements happen naturally all the time.

This is a kid who was mocked (by WalterFootball - he sucks but he's usually fairly accurate) to San Fran in the 1st round in one of his January mocks: http://walterfootball.com/draft2014archive_0101_1.php

Hopefully he's coming back stronger than ever!

Prayers that he made it through practice OK.

I watched the whole video where he talked about his recovery and being added to the active roster, but could not understand a single word he said.

So how do you know he was talking about his recovery and being added to the active roster?

The homepage says that and I could see the video perfectly.

Another example: Tony Boselli tore his ACL in the last regular season game and started the opener. That is exactly 9 months if he did nothing during the preseason.
