I think we have done well to stay out of the lime light of moving and tarps and all that bad stuff. I still also disagree with having a team in London full time, I just dont see it working out well. the scheduling would be insane and money for fllights and idk...Im just against a full team in london.

I think the national media has laid off us recently on relocating. It's rare nowadays to hear about the tarps or season tickets problem. Now we mostly get picked on because of our record.

 

It seems like the national media has turned their focus to Los Angeles getting at least one team sooner, rather than later.  With the Rams, Raiders,  and Chargers being the only teams mentioned for this possibility.

It bothers me more because 90% of that country is full of football hating soccer losers who have no taste when it comes to sports, but rather defend a trash sport because its frombtheir country and hate on the better sport because its not.. A borderline racist behavior.

I'm not sure how the team would effect the NFL product, but the only things I could think of are:

 

Fans - The NFL would not move/start a team in London unless it is confident it could sell out 8 games a year. Wembley stadium holds 90,00 (86,000 for NFL) people which would make it the largest (by seating amount) stadium in the NFL. It would also be one of the most modern stadiums in the league (currently 4th, 5th once the Vikings new stadium opens). Currently the NFL have sold out 3 games this year, 2 games last year and single games in previous seasons at Wembley. The rumour going around right now is that a team will play back-to-back games in a season at Wembley. One thing I saw was the Jags hosting the Bills in London next year then the Bills sticking around for a week and playing a home game in London themselves. People who are against the idea will relate to the NFL Europe attendances however that's a terrible argument. NFL Europe was a farm for 99% arena league standard players to play, it was a "reserve" league and was never going to be a success.

 

Travel - It currently takes 5 hours 40 minutes from New York to San Fran, it takes 7 hours 15 minutes to London - just 1 1/2 hours more. This is reasonable. The biggest problem is the west coast teams heading over to the UK and I agree that could be a problem. It currently takes around 10 hours to get from San Fran to London. I'm not really clued up on aviation too much but I imagine 20/30 years ago teams would travel a lot more than 10 hours to get from one city to another. Aside from that plenty of business people travel across the Atlantic weekly and get by just fine. A 10 hour flight isn't that crazy.

 

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. The way I see it - London is not just a singular thing, it's a gateway for the NFL into the wider world. The biggest hurdle is the first one and if they can be successful in London then it'll only open more and more windows of opportunity to expand.

But from San Fran to London it takes about 11 hours.... Thats crazy long.

 

I do think it could work but it would be really weird. A canadian team makes way more sense (Toronto?). The NFL is the greediest of all the major sports. No way should there be games on every single Thursday. I hate those games and they have been terrible all season. Maybe one competitive game all year. I would rather have a Saturday game or something. No Thursday games. Too quick of a turnaround.

I disagree with this.

 

There have already been 2 NFL teams in LA (Raiders and Rams) along with a few other pro football teams (according to the Wiki page) and they have all failed there, except maybe the AFL team, LA KISS, but they just had their inaugural season.

 

Why not give London a shot? Just as long as it's NOT the Jags.

 

I would rather see an expansion team over there (London Fog or something) than moving one of the current teams there.

 

Will it work, who knows, but it would be different and kind of fun, and the thought of having games at 9:30 am on a Sunday morning like this week, OOOHHHHH BABYYYYYYYY.

US Code keeps them from playing on Fridays and Saturdays that fall between the 2nd Friday of September to the 2nd Saturday in December, if the station broadcasting it is within 75 miles of a high school or collegiate game...which is pretty much anywhere in the US lol.

  While there are no guarantees,  regardless of what the media thinks or what their agenda is,   the key is for the Jaguars to continue to get good fan support.   With additional corporate and business support,  another key for any NFL franchise.   If that happens,  the Jaguars should remain in Jacksonville over the long haul.  At the very least,  there wouid be no justification for the Jaguars to leave Jacksonville.
