Jaguars fans leaving the stadium with the game still in question

Where is all this I'm a bigger fan than you are stuff coming from? And what in the world has it got to do with anything.

If you buy a ticket you can use it, not use it, leave at the half, leave at the two minute or sit there and leave 10 minutes after the darn thing is over.

Like an earlier poster, I was happy as hell we weren't 30 points down. If you would watch the field instead of the other fans you'd see ....the jags are getting better...the really are.

The squealers were really quiet around me in the start when they went three and out and we converted, what 5 maybe 6 times to score a field goal.

They have "super bowl" quarterback that almost lost to a team so full of rookies the ink isn't dry on their diplomas yet.

Wow guys, go argue about something else.

I'm done now. :turned:

I left early, and I leave early when I know the game is over for the most part....I do think the "you shouldn't leave early" crowd looks down on others as lesser fans for leaving early, butI really could care less.  I've never left a game where the outcome changed.

It just bothers me that people in general feel like they can tell a paying customer when to come and go.

With ya on that one my friend. Wine and cheesers look down on people for cooking hotdogs instead of brats on a grill... it's all relative. Once that game is over in my mind.. i'm gone... I live my own life. To each his own.

If people want to leave early, that's their call. To me personally that seems a little like leaving the theater before the credits roll but whatever trips your trigger.

What I do question is people thinking the game was over with the Jags having the ball late down by one score and having a first down. Have these people never seen an NFL game before?
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

<span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);">I drive just about 10 hours round trip for each home game. I have missed two games in the last 5 years..I was deployed at the time. So for someone watching TV to criticize me for leaving early is at best laughable! I make the drive..spend a goodly sum for 4 tickets parking and concessions. If you are a "stay at home fan" you do not have a leg to stand on criticizing those walking out of the stadium whenever they decide it is time to go.

Do you wear the kevlar vest all the way from Miami?

As Badger said early on, this is not unique to Jacksonville. Coming from the Boston area, I was surprised to see as many people leaving Alltel Stadium as I did, before the game was decided (this was 12-13 years ago) but I didn't care. Everybody can do what they want.

Now, when I go to an event in Boston, guess what...plenty of people leave early, just as many as Jacksonville and anywhere else and I've been to events all over the country. It's the norm, it's what people do. In Miami, I've seen people not even show up to NBA games until halftime (I get booted out of their nice seats). I often wonder why people even buy tickets, at Red Sox games, people spend the game staring into their phones and then are gone in the 6th inning but that's their choice. I don't care at all.

Personally, I stay until the bloody end unless it's a blowout. We get back to the car, pull out the chairs and there's a cold beer and a sandwich waiting as well. We then chew the fat over the game with the other people around us for an hour, then drive away on open roads.

Season Ticket holder since 2004. Smile

... good grief...

of all the many things that are legitimate concerns for this franchise, fans getting up and heading for the long bus lines with 5 minutes of game time to go is hardly worth being concerned about. But don't worry, as the saying goes, 'what comes around goes around'. One of these games those people are going to be walking out of the stadium only to hear that the other team missed the game winning field goal and the jags are heading for the play offs.... and they walked out and missed it.

I had to miss another game due to a family event ( this time a funeral..  Last week a wedding) but I never leave too early unless completely in doubt..   I remember one game years ago I walked out of and they made a big comeback to win and I vowed never to leave early unless it was completely hopeless..  Of course the other team could have had Mike Smith as a coach who can screw up an end of game and give a team hope when they had none...

20 years. What do you want? Some stories only an attendant to a game would know? Jaxson back flip? The honor row in the upper deck? The extra seats put in for the Fl/ Ga game, closed pools, birds on the field, early exits, the marine who rang the bell. I'll send you a ticket stub you can frame.

Wait...what am I doing? You can't even post here, let alone attend a game. Lol

I hate the idea of leaving early, and if I could I would stay to the end of a 50 point blowout. If the only thing at stake is "beating traffic", I'd definitely stay. Trying to beat traffic when there's a slight shot at a comeback is even worse. Reminds me of the Finals a couple years ago when Heat fans were leaving the game before a miraculous comeback, then wouldn't be let back in. They deserved it for leaving, if it was just to beat traffic or because their team was losing.

But like you said there are circumstances when some need to leave early; I was at the game today and was actually hoping for a blowout or early decision that would leave me some time in the 4th quarter. I had taken a bus that was scheduled to leave precisely 30 minutes after the game ended, and it was parked all the way over in lot W, which I wasn't even sure I could find. Didn't want to risk hitchhiking all the way home to Orlando, lol. I ended up leaving with around 6 minutes to go with the last play I saw being Miller taking the ball inside the 10.

Really wanted to stay, and it's a pity I missed the Jags only TD of the day at the end. I felt bad.
