I got to give Caldwell some credit on the MJD release

Quote:You must not know much about Rings of Honor, etc. There are plenty of players in teams' Halls of Fame (or whatever they call it) for a variety of reasons - because they meant something to that team. Look, I'm not saying MJD didn't mean something to Jags, but his exit was shameful. An ill-advised holdout followed by accusations that the team somehow did him wrong work together to, IMO, exclude him from the pride and justifiably so. I'm sorry, but you having your feelings hurt will not have an impact on MJD being selected, in my opinion. Like Vic always said, it's professional football, it's about the money. I don't think for a second his holdout will matter at all. It's just business.

Quote:Except you don't have a clue as to what the standards are.And you somehow know what they are? Ok then what are they then. Please make your case as to why MJD belongs in The Pride because I would love to hear it. And FYI my first NFL game was a Packer game at Lambeau so I'm kinda familiar with other teams HOF. P.S. Brett Favre is only going to the the 6th player inducted into the Packers HOF for what it's worth.

So now you're some kind of expert? Perhaps the Jaguars should hire you as a consultant, seeing as you are familiar with other teams' HoF.

Quote:Rubbish. Anyone who disparages the franchise after he's signed with another team isn't worthy, period. You should stop White Knighting MJD, he doesn't deserve your affection. Good player, yes; total [BLEEP], absolutely. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Good player, yes; total [BAD WORD REMOVED], absolutely. It was definitely sad to see him leave, bitter, complaining and trashing the Jags the way he did. There was no need for him to do that. It was completely classless on MJD's part. What a shame for ALL Jags fans, especially those who had MJD as their favorite player. Just a slap in the face to all of them.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
I would believe that he will go to the Pride...I would consider his volume of work in total and what impact his contribution made...yes he split carries with Freddy T, but that allowed Freddy to not have to carry the full load and the run game was still productive... That's a PLUS...While the team was in utter suck mode, MDJ was the most productive player on the team until the last year or so, that's a PLUS...MDJ led the league in rushing one year, that's a PLUS, MDJ was very active in the community as well...
While the team hasn't done much of anything lately, MJD was pretty much the only player known to non Jag fans, and was still feared by other teams DC... Some of his contribution may have happened during multiple losing seasons, but he was still a major role player who's work had a major impact on the team and also in the community...Just because we had multiple losing seasons, doesn't mean MDJ isn't pride worthy... He was a whiny little crybaby at the end, but that shouldn't disqualify him from being Pride worthy
Quote:6 carries for 8 yards today. Shoelace is a better back than MJD now. The wheels have fallen off pocket Hercules. He is now pocket Herculess.

I think that's 56 yards total for the season. Jacksonville done him wrong all right...looks like he done Oakland wrong.
Season Ticket holder since 2004.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Top 50 all time rushing list. 4.4 career yrd per carry. Great career for the Jags. Just because flsportsgod and mvp got their feewings huwrt doesn't mean he is exempt from the ring of honor.
If Brunell is in MJD is a lock. Get over it. Oh yeah mvp, how exactly do you rack up over 8,000 yrds rushing in ony "3 solid seasons."
I think he should make it in .. It's not his fault the Jags didn't put better Talent around him during his time there & he still performed at a Pro Bowl level .. they loss games with MJD & losing games without him It's all Even now. He gets in !!!
Cali got the Oranges ..Jacksonville got the Drew !!

The next Jags RB to make it into the ring of honor should have BETTER numbers then Fred Taylor.
Only possible exception: Said RB leads the Jags to a Super Bowl victory. JMHO

Being honored by the franchise should be reserved for those who are honorable. Quote:There were many fans who wanted to resign MJD to stay and Jacksonville but Dave let him walk. It's a great thing he did not resign him because Drew has been a flat out bum this season.Okay lets give him credit for that but blame for Toby on the same basis of stats alone.. MJD 41 att 90 yards 2.2 avg Toby 68 att 192 yards 2.8 avg I think if MJD would have restructured his contract that they shouldve kept him, but at that time it seemed like Maurice was just down with Jacksonville & he wanted to return home. I hope things go better for him since he did so well in JAX for so many years.
Quote:Okay lets give him credit for that but blame for Toby on the same basis of stats alone.. If somebody would have told me that Toby would have more then twice the # of rushing yards Mojo had AND a better avg after 12 games I would have been very happy about it. Now that I actually see it's true, I just don't feel as happy as I thought I would.

No way MJD takes the back up role as Toby was forced to take. His presence would have hijacked our ability to play our most productive back, Robinson. Letting him go was the right move, clearly.

Quote:The next Jags RB to make it into the ring of honor should have BETTER numbers then Fred Taylor. Well MJD has the franchise record for rushing TDs and all-time TDs. Is that worthy enough?
