I always find it interesting when two teams have the same record and the team who lost in a head to head matchup is ranked higher.

Alabama is ranked higher than Ole Miss

TCU is ranked higher than Baylor

Michigan State is ranked higher than Oregon (coaches poll)

Oregon is ranked higher than Arizona

It's college football, it makes no logical sense. It all matters when you lose.

Look at the point differential from 3 to 11. Potential for a lot of movement there . . . not that these polls matter.

I'm really looking forward to seeing if the committee will really bring a different perspective to the rankings than the existing polls.

And it all tends to play itself out in the end.

When the Final Four rankings come out this week, people will be up in arms no matter how they are ranked.

Sure they matter. You don't think the committee will take the rankings into consideration ? They will be a major deciding point.

I think there might be some pushback with the committee trying to establish it's not just going to echo the polls. Especially with so many 1-loss teams that are so close in quality of schedule, wins, and losses. It could go either way though. I admit, I'll be glued to my TV that night.

I can agree with that, but that's a far cry from the polls not mattering.

Somebody will always feel left out. Teams feel left out of the NCAA tourney and 68 get in now.

I still think the best case scenario is 16. My hope anyway.

I hope the committee comes out with 3 of the 4 SEC West teams.  The collegiate football scene will explode.

Don't think it will happen at all, but that'd be fun to see the meltdown occur.

Yes, that's just what we need. A potential repeat of the Bama-LSU national title from a few years ago.

Prediction:

Winner of Alabama vs Georgia SEC Championship game gets invite

Oregon

FSU

Michigan State

Controversy ---- 2 loss SEC teams complain.   1-loss ND fans complain.

That is one reason I don't like college football. Logic is very important to me.

Something else I don't like is when teams move up for sitting on the couch. OSU moved up from 20 to 13 after its bye week, but did not budge after a win.

I thought this 4-team agreement was set through 2024 but I'm sure it can be renegotiated if necessary.

I wasn't sure. That's why I posed it as a question. You very well may be correct. I think you are.

I just googled it and apparently it's a 12-year Contract ----- 4 teams.
