What is Bortles doing better now than he was in pre season? I honestly dont see any improvement at all. His decision making is a really big problem. I dont see how you can coach better decision making. 

 

Again I ask. Why is Derek Carr not making as many mistakes and bad decisions? He's a rookie with no talent and no running game. Surely he's in exactly the same situation as Bortles. 

 

Would we have been better drafting Watkins and Carr, rather than Bortles and a totally anonymous Lee.

You're free to go be a Raiders fan if you like what Carr is doing.  Personally I don't think he'll last long term.  I think Bortles will.  Especially once we have an OC that plays to his strengths.

A good QB wins this game. Sugar coat it all you want. Maybe next year, but he is clearly over his head. His athleticism gets him some kudos and out of trouble, but it's mentality for QBs, and he is behind the curve so far..


A good running game, good D and lousy special teams and passing game lost it"..... Again.

What I Understand from this board is that this board Seriiously Lobbied for an replacement for Gabbert n Henne. Now that we have their Rookie Replacement, we're reluctant to allow him to grow/get better...

I think Tom Brady is a fantastic QB, does that mean I should support the Patriots? Thats ridiculous. I have no love for Derek Carr, I want Bortles to succeed as he's what we have (I actually wanted Bridgewater prior to the draft). Bortles has thrown well over double the amount of INT's that those 2 rookie QBs have. Yes Bridgewater is in a better team, (with a hall of fame running back). 

 

Comparing him to rookie Qbs that have come out in the same draft is much better than comparisons to Manning and Roethlisberger rookie seasons which is the norm on here

Go watch last season and early season games? What? He's better than Henne? That's the high water mark achievement to look for?

With this group? The run game was good today. His WRs? Need work. But so does he. A lot.

I want improvement. Has there been any? No.

Is there potential? Sure. But that is like good intentions. They're common. so is potential.

He had another lousy game. It's that simple.

It's clear next year is the deal breaker for this team and the coaches.

It gets old watching 2013 repeat itself. Sadly, it's next year I'm waiting for. Regardless of who the players are.

We had this game.

 

We have the better personell in most aspects.

 

We lost this game because of lack of coaching and lack of a good QB.

 

Our D is money.  We have a very good RB.  We have darn good WRs.  

 

We have bad playcalling on the offense 

 

We have horrible coaching on special teams...

 

But with that all, we still had a chance to win this game.

 

We're chumps if we don't think we're already ready do win  NOW.

 

 

We're not rebuilding anymore,  We've been built.  

 

It's poor coaching and poor QB play that is holding this team back

You implied that you'd rather have Carr + Watkins (Which still might not have been an option, the Raiders picked Carr before our pick.)


And yes, he's made more int's, but that's because he often tries to make something out of nothing.  You won't see Bridgewater or Carr doing that.  (Carr currently has two int's in todays game btw).  Personally I want a QB who's going to try to make a play.  He needs to learn when to and when not to, but that will come as the game slows down for him.  I mean Teddy's only had 3 touchdowns all season.

Bengals are darn good team, esp at home.  Team played well today except for the run d.  Bortles played worse than his stat line but he is getting better, esp his chemistry with the rookie wide receivers.  If they blanket AR15 then he goes for Hurns or vice versa
