Is the SEC overrated?
|
Quote:Or let's look at overall body of work and not judge based on single performances. shes a lost cause. and i actually hope FSU plays the top SEC team. i want to see FSU get demolished. ill openly say that im not a fan of FSU and its strictly driven by jameis. but im also not being a homer when i say that they arent as good as their rank or what a lot of FSU fans would think, same with winston.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:It's OK man. He won't be able to hurt you anymore after this year. Actually he can if the Titans draft him after letting Locker walk. Quote:shes a lost cause. So where would you rank the undefeated national champs? And yea Jameis isn't any good. It's not like he will ever win a Heisman or beat an SEC team for the National Title. Plus we can point to all the losses in his career as evidence that he is overrated. Yea, no sour grapes here. What a joke....

Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED! Quote:People seem to forget that FSU is gonna get everyone's best shot this year because they want to be the team that knocks off the defending champs.Kids don't go out and play any harder for one game then they do the other.

Quote:Kids don't go out and play any harder for one game then they do the other. Huh? Signed, Michigan vs Ohio St. rivalry.

Quote:Huh?The intensity and hate is ramped up in rivalry games. That's all pre game. Once that ball is kicked it's a football game as always. None of that stuff matters or really creeps in anymore. For the players anyway, fans, a different story.

Quote:shes a lost cause.I respect that. The nation deserves the best SEC team to play FSU to settle this. I'm sure it would be a close game.
Quote:Kids don't go out and play any harder for one game then they do the other.Trav you dont honestly believe that do you? You can't tell me the gators didn't play harder against Georgia, a bitter rival. Quote:I respect that. The nation deserves the best SEC team to play FSU to settle this. St. at the top spot either when the dust is settled.

Quote:Trav you dont honestly believe that do you? You can't tell me the gators didn't play harder against Georgia, a bitter rival. No. When it comes down to it, its football. It's mostly about execution, especially the running game. You think every time the lineman for UF lined up they thought, "Man, this is Georgia! I have to play harder!"? Quote:It'll all get settled, no matter how you slice it. The next few weeks will produce the most deserving four. Agree again. I think Alabama will be the only SEC team remaining when its all settled (maybe Auburn)....the way they are playing though, LSU would be very dangerous. I hope its 4 different conferences being represented....I hope a non SEC team wins the title. It will make the rest of the country really happy.
The loser of the Auburn game is probably out. I still think Miss St. and/or Ole Miss have a shot.

Quote:No. When it comes down to it, its football. It's mostly about execution, especially the running game. You think every time the lineman for UF lined up they thought, "Man, this is Georgia! I have to play harder!"? 1. I think the week of practice leading up to a big game is much more focused and a lot more gets accomplished. Preparation in CFB is huge. 2. In most games, you're right. The players come out of the tunnel hyped, and by the 2nd drive the hype is gone. In a rivalry game, the hype is there for 60 minutes. Go research the Michigan vs Ohio St. rivalry from 1969 to 2001. You could literally throw out the records/rankings because they really didn't matter.
3. You've never heard of teams "playing down to their opponents"? That is often attributed to playing carelessly and overlooking a weaker opponent. 4. You've never heard of "trap games"? What do you think "trap games" are? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:1. I think the week of practice leading up to a big game is much more focused and a lot more gets accomplished. Preparation in CFB is huge. When did we start talking about playing down to your opponents? We are talking about rivalry games. Regardless, and I'll reiterate the point that you actually agreed with that makes the rest not matter. Even in rivalry games, after the 2nd drive everyone calms down and they play. Are they a tad more heated with emotion, maybe...but for the most part it doesn't matter. Football is football and I'd imagine Alabama plays just as hard against Auburn, LSU, FSU, Notre Dame, etc.... You're telling me someone tries harder to score a touchdown or throw a nice block depending on who they are playing? I played way too long to believe that and played in rivalry games....the only difference is emotion, not effort.
Quote:Kids don't go out and play any harder for one game then they do the other. Yeah you're right. It's never happened before. |
