Election Results

Quote:I'm curious what agenda's they are frustrated that have not been achieved? We almost have socialized medicine, give it about 4 years, the way it's set up the ACA will be a disastrous and people will be begging for a single payer system. It's actually a brilliant plan on the democrats side.

They've successfully blocked the Key Stone pipeline I know a few liberals that see the pipe line as a big deal.

Maybe not enough in the welfare expansion? But I find welfare to be a hit or miss issue, I know plenty of liberals that have problems with welfare. I'm curious what they are seeking that they feel hasn't been achieved or maybe not enough has been done?

I know on the right side, I can rattle off a list long enough to fill a book I'm upset about but I always that it was clear I'm on the losing side?
I more meant the idea that they have no teeth that they give in to the other side and don't fight. TBH, I do not really understand either side that says this. I see both sides fighting with each other constantly instead of actually getting anything done.

As a centrist I like a lot of both party's "ideas" I also hate the majority of the them at the extremes.

gotcha thought maybe there was something specifically they didn't feel was completed. I know some people I've talked to over seas always have the sentiment even our left is to far right, to me that's just mind blowing but it's all about perspective.

I'm a centrist populist who has followed politics since Eisenhower. I've seen the same speeches, tactics, fears, rumors, agendas, etc for 50 years and it's freakin' hilarious to me how people think "this" election will be different. I've seen it every 2 years.

When you peel away the layers of the onion representing abortion rights, immigration policies, tax codes, same sex marriages, social security, etc. and get right down to the core the Republicans want to put the purchasing power in the hands of the rich and the Democrats want to put the purchasing power in the hands of the poor.

All that other stuff is for garnering votes.

Quote:I'm not a liberal. Your inability to not stereotype doesn't shock me in the least.

That's fine. All I said was it was a different color of the corrupt and that they don't have most of america's interests in mind. They are no different than the dems.
You're a flaming liberal if I ever saw one. You don't do nearly enough to hide it. I understand why you would be ashamed to admit to it. That is perfectly reasonable, but your position on everything talked about screams liberal.

Hate to break the news, but you're a card carrying  commie liberal.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

If you were not such a pathetic piece of work, I would almost find this rant adorable.

Politics is about power and leverage and I expect to see a few things changed/passed as a result of the election.  For ex/ I can see the pres signing off on Keystone in return for congress passing the IMF reform bill.  I could also see the admin agreeing to reduce the corp income tax rate to repatriate $$ in return for congress agreeing to allocate more $$ to infrastructure projects.  I think where things will get sticky is with Obama's stance on immigration and threat of exec order, and Congress trying to repeal elements of the ACA. (Although, I could see compromise on both.)

These would be reasonable things I would like to see happen. More infrastructure is a  great thing IMO

I have never seen it put so succinctly- but this sums up what I believe is going on too.

I keep hoping different candidates or new voters will change things.
