Everyday this franchise employs Gus Bradley as HC, it's another wasted day.

Quote:And it's gus's job to improve the play of what he has..... So far, we arent seeing it. We think we have something fixed one week, then it breaks two games down the road. If it isnt one thing it's another.

I think a lot of people are forgetting, this is professional football. It isnt okay for the product to look like this, period. It doesnt matter how "honest about the process" they have been, there is no evidence that it's working. People have been fired for far, far less
agreed! but I also know there is no magic wand to wave to make all the players forget their prior training and mechanics or whatever it is that they are deficient in go away and never be seen again...There will always be stupid rookie mistakes when dealing with such a young team. I think what makes everything look so bad, is that we have so many rookies and first year players that are all making their rookie mistakes at the same time that it looks like no one has any idea what they are doing...Normally you only have a select few rookies playing at once but nearly half our team are rookies and we have so many of them that are starters it just looks like crap because of so many rookies all making their rookie mistakes at the same time

Quote:It doesn't take a rocket scientist at coach to start the guy who your GM just signed who was a starter on last year's Superbowl winner. He also chose to start Gratz over McCray, Guy over Evans, and Gerhart over Robinson. How long did it take him to finally start Bortles? That Bortles was better was obvious to just about everyone long before Bradley finally saw it.

What players from last year have gotten better? I'll give you Denard Robinson and Miller, but they were mainly health issues. Is Gratz better? NO! Is Joeckel better? Hard to say. Cyprien? NO. Ace Sanders? NO. McCray? Also hard to say since he didn't play much last year. Marks? He has been great, but he was last year too. Evans? I'd say yes, so that's one. Is improvement by just one player from last year satisfactory development by the coaching staff?
well you are certainly in the minority then...several articles have floated around about a couple of our players and how well they are playing...the defensive line has improved from where it's been for years...we have more sacks this year than we have had in years...Bortles can move the ball better than any QB since Garrard...I'd say that in itself is improvement

Quote:My expectation would be year 3 which is next year...I'm not saying we will got 10-6 or anything of that nature, but I believe with another off season and draft, the team will be more competitive and put some wins on the board...Not garbage wins against bottom feeders either...I think next year will be the year in which Dave's first draft start to show their salt...Mr, Kahn said in an interview in London that we will be active in free agency and we have the luxury of lots of cap space that not many teams have, and that some teams won't be able to sign all their free agents, which leads me to believe we will be doing some patching in FA...

OK, then. What are your true expectations next year record-wise?

I mean true expectations, not unrealistic ones.

Would a 7-9 season next year be considered a success to you?

I would actually consider a 7-9 record some true progress next season, especially after what we have seen so far this season.

What about you, or anyone else reading this?

What would you truly consider progress next season, record-wise?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I would expect a 7-9 season maybe even squeak out 8-8...Even if there were only 6 wins, it's still an improvement, but I don't think it's enough unless we were to be extremely close in the scoring of a couple games against good teams (playoff bound teams)...If we went 6-10 but lost to a couple of playoff caliber teams by a very narrow margin or in OT I'd be content

This regime needs at least a 7 win season next year to make it out alive.

If we go 6-10 or worse (which is very possible or even likely), I think the coaching staff needs to go.

It's sad the point we are at...It'll be another 3 years wasted when Bradley and company are fired at the end of next season if Khan waits that long.

Exactly. This team is not going to be good next year or the year after. We are lost and our team looks like its in need of a rebuild. That's how much we suck. I want us to be good, but everyone knows what suck is around here, and they are going to be that for some time. I think we are hindered by an inexperienced coach and his staff.

Caldwell has gave this team some players to build around. Gus is in over his head at this point. Everyone on the team cannot be learning at the same time.

I have a bad feeling that's going to happen. Cannot ride this wave for the sake of it. There is ZERO improvement from last year.

The improvements have been bullet point listed for you for easy recognition and absorption.

The faster we can get a new coach in, the quicker the Jags can return to some sort of winning ways.  Gus is a dud. Worse than Mularkey.

I kind of think if we stuck with him more than a year we wouldn't be in this bad of shape. He has HC NFL experience with NFL coordinators.

The offensive struggles are understandable. Rookies all over the place. Although, I'm not sure jedd fisch runs an offense that will ever have success at the nfl level.

Our Defense is what pisses me off. Under Bradley, this defense should be tackling and playing better coverage. I didn't expect the Jags to shut down the cowboys, but the fact that we couldn't tackle anyone? It's been a problem all year, and it's really getting on my damn nerves.

6 wins in the 3rd year of a rebuild just can't be considered any kind of real success. I mean, that's still a double digit loss season. Three in a row for them.

The absolute minimum to be considered real progress should be 7 wins, at least that would mean a single digit loss season, which would be an improvement over the previous season.

I'll be brutally honest, at this point, I just don't see Gus leading the Jags to a 7 win season next year.

I really don't see anyway that Gus isn't here next season, even if he loses out for the rest of the year, but if he doesn't get off to a good start next year, and I have my doubts, I don't know how much longer he deserves to be here as HC.

If he loses out, I think he's a goner. If that happens maybe we khan can open up his checkbook and get Harbough

This team and the this coaching staff sucks.  1-9 and just took a royal beating on the world stage.  Tired of hearing excuses

I really hope for Bradley's sake that we start pulling together some Ws.

I don't think the message of positivity and being internally motivated is effective when you lose 21 out of your 26 games.

Anything less than 4-12 and I hope we see some major changes in the coaching staff.  Looking at the rest of the schedule, that's not very likely.

I really dont think we need to get rid of GUS. I really think we need to bring in an experienced Offensive Guru as OC. Gus has the team playing hard for him the players respond to him well. I look at Mike Tomlin in PIT he is not a expert in Offense or Defense he is a good motivator and great at getting the players to play for him, he does however have very solid OC and DC with experince.
