So who is to blame?

Quote:Shad for having us play in London and taking away the vital importance of home field advantage for when this team is actually good.    Beyond that, on the field, the problem is a lack of talent and that lies on one person.  Is it to early for this?  Probably, but these conversations are coming quick.

So oehser says gus said that play before half was "called coverage?" With less than a minute left in the half? Did we just assume they were gonna run clock? Wow does that ever show a tremendous amount of incompetence. Another example of this staff's lack of situational awareness

Don't you get tired of the same old blather?

All I know is it will all be worth it if we have a perennial contender here in jax for the next 10 15 yrs starting next season.

But where is the gradual improvement? Do they look any better than they looked in week 1 ? Marginally, at best. Will they miraculously transform from a sloppy, undisciplined, mistake-prone, overmatched, overwhelmed, confused bunch of underachievers to suddenly become a finely tuned offensive, defensive and special teams juggernaut? I don't see it happening. Next year we replace a few players with a new rookie class that's young, inexperienced, and prone to making mistakes, and the talking points are, " Well, we're still a very young team, lots of rookies and second and third year players. We have to let them develop." Meanwhile, and it happens every year, other NFL teams go from losing records to the playoffs. Somehow, they've figured out how to have a quick turnaround, while all we get are excuses.

Quote:Smith was good though wasn't he? probably would have been worth keeping just to help out at LB (if i remember his position correctly)
Yes. I wanted Caldwell to keep him. Thought he would...

Not sure it would change much in terms of the W/L column - but would have helped the LB position some.

With all of the stress that the Jaguars apparently cause people on this board (and who call in on the shows) should maybe step back and re-evaluate if this form of entertainment is really for them.  It is a spectator sport.  Watch it and enjoy it.

I don't understand why people get so worked up and feel like the world is going to end.

Strictly a business decision and I get that.  Shad and we fans have different priorities and I understand that.  Shad's number 1 is $$$ and winning next.  I want wins.  London does nothing but detract from that.

I give more blame to the GM than the coaches...

1. Gerhart and Beadles have underachieved as FA signings

2. Extending Henne was a disaster

3. Drafting Joeckel and trading Monroe has not created improvement at LT

4. Other than Marks our best FA signings are former Seahawks player, which I credit to Bradley

5. I think Bortles was a slight reach at 3 and starting a rookie QB without any veteran receivers or lineman is a bad decision

I think the Fisch hire was a bad hire... If any coach has to be the scapegoat I hope it is him

The roster Gene left was literally one of the worst of all time. Not even a single difference maker.

Whoever we blame, they MUST be blamed, and they MUST be BLAMED HARD.

That fixes everything.

Is this roster that much better?  Yes it's younger but IDK about better.
