I think some people are naïve if they think hanging out at a casino for a recovering addict is no big deal.  It may be no big deal at all, or it could be an "assignment" from the rehab center, who knows

Perfectly stated! Except for the fact that people can and do change their behavior...ASSUMING that simply going to a casino is a precursor to going on an binge is narrow minded thinking...Perhaps, maybe, just maybe, he's doing well and can live a normal life without having to try to avoid places simply because it looks bad for him to be there, but that would be too much for some people to understand...

 

It's always easier to assume people are going to screw up than it is to wait and see if they do well...Believe it or not, some people DO learn how to deal with their vices and live a normal life...

 

Judging a person by their history is not always what the future holds... I can see your point, don't get me wrong, however, I am an advocate of waiting for someone to do wrong. before I start screaming that they are screwing up...

Well we can all do one of two things...We can hope/assume he is, or we can scream from the rooftops that he is not...I choose to wait and see as opposed to screaming from the rooftops that he is not doing well

Talked to JB yesterday at a Oklahoma City GameStop. Said he feels better than ever and wants to catch Blake Bortles balls. 

Not sure how Blake's girlfriend is going to feel about that.

The 1 million dollar question is will he be as productive or anywhere close to the player he was before his suspension? It's hard to see him back playing football at all.

If Blackmon fails again or he isn't the same player, the Jags cut him and move on.

I think we all know Blackmon has the talent to be away from the game for as long as he has and come back and make an immediate comeback. He showed that with his 200+ yard reception game coming back from however many games suspension he had. He will make an immediate impact.

His talent has never been in question.  It's the continuing pattern of stupid choices that have caused his problems and raise speculation that he will never return to football.

I don't know if being in a casino is a good choice for him or not. I DO know when I quit smoking I would go sit in a smoky bar to test my resolve to the max to see if I had the will to not smoke. It's been 15 years ago and still no cigarette.

Well, obviously. As of right now BARRING SETBACKS, he will be on the 2015 roster. I gave up on him along time ago, but as of now, I believe he will be back.

He's the 2nd person in the past few posts to post that testing the waters so to speak is part of recovery. 

 

Do you remember seeing any type of report from the same day saying he was arrested or involved in some awkward accident at 3 in the morning where alcohol could have been involved?

 

Until something else surfaces showing an arrest or anything of the sort, you should try and look at the positive side that maybe he is finally turning a corner. I know the Jags don't have that kind of luck, but humanity does every now and then, so give it a chance first.
