Simple Yes or No....Is Bradley The Guy

Quote:We just need to have faith in our owner. All of us are banking on his business acumen translating to NFL ownership. If Khan realizes he made a mistake in the Bradley hire, then hopefully he won't be too proud to admit that mistake and correct it. Same with the Caldwell hire.

He can't enjoy being 7-35 as an owner.
Add in the fact that he's already fired a couple of managers of his EPL team. That tells me he really must have bought in to the plan Caldwell is following otherwise he probably would have made a move by now.

I think it might be a bit early to answer with a simple yes or no, but there's no doubt he hasn't gotten off to a start that's going to instill a lot of confidence in his ability for people to believe he IS the guy.

Ultimately, it's up to Khan to make that decision, and I'm sure he will give Gus enough time to prove whether he is or isn't the Guy.

Personally, I don't see Khan being as patient as WW was.

Every Jaguars' head coach has been better than the next one.  Bradley continues in this fine tradition.

Relegation spawns more desperate measures.  Very, very different situation over there in the EPL.  Not valid for comparison IMO.

Khan likely trusts Caldwell to lead the charge on coaching changes, and I see no reason to suspect Caldwell would be afraid to make changes. I don't think he's going to fire a coach that struggled with the youngest roster in the league though.  I think he'll want to see more development of the young players before judging Bradley too harshly.

I have to say I am a fan - another season and draft and I think we become competitive.. I feel like he is a player's coach but still has the team's respect.. halfway between Coughlin and JDR...

Bingo... When Gene selected Anger he probably talked himself into thinking it was a good move.

I would be surprised if Bradley is fired. But some changes need to be made on the staff.

Firing the special teams coach Mike Mallory seems like a given. Our special teams unit is about as bad as I can remember seeing on an NFL field.

The first comment I'd make on this matter is why did we have to 'develop' a coach at the same time we are 'developing' his coordinators. Nevermind the QB, WR's and nearly every other position. And do all this 'developing' largely without any veteran leadership.

I actually like what was said earlier about moving him to DC, but of course that is highly unlikely.

I am very grateful to Bradley for his leadership and many accomplishments. The poor guy looked exhausted last weekend. He really needed the bye. But I do have to agree that we haven't seen the kind of edge from the sideline I would have hoped for. When he speaks, I am not inspired by his football acumen, like say a Kelly or Jon Harbaugh, Reid, and the like.

He gets next year, because last year doesn't count in my mind, though I know that isn't a popular position. Hopefully Fisch goes, I am tired of quarter after quarter without at least trying to go over the top. It's ridiculous, just run a fly pattern and chuck it down the sideline...maybe you get a flag, or an int that's as good as a punt anyway. It's the single most basic play in football.

Go deeeep!!!

What does that have to do with narcissism?

Not much. Just that he agrees with almost every decision management makes.

Yes, I think Bradley has done an excellent job in a number of areas and statistics that others have pointed out. Namely, he got the team playing as a group, and they don't quit. That is a HUGE accomplishment from where we were. We were told this year was about being more competitive. I think we have been. Others have also pointed out we have been in nearly every game but two or so. This was Dallas, Dez and Demarco are beasts, and Whitten and Escobar are no slouches, forget the steamroller O-line. You can't spot them 7 and expect to succeed. Our return guy muffed it, that's what you'd expect from a team like ours. I credit Bradley with the fact we haven't seen more of it. That is also a BIG accomplishment, protecting the football.

What I can't stand is a supposedly defensive-minded coach with a group of players that miss so many tackles ala JDR. Meanwhile, opposing teams are knocking our most promising players right out of the season. The shot on Hurns was deliberate, as were the shots on CS3 two weeks in a row. We are getting pushed around like pansies out there. Dez Bryant's TD was the most embarassing play of the season. The whole team missed. How I long for the days of the AFC central, when we played like a real AFC team. Next time somebody lays a hit on one of our players like that, we need to return the favor. In the same game.

Yep, it's like other teams beat us up, take our lunch money and we don't do a darn thing about it, but go home with our tails between our legs and another loss.
