Quote:BC Game... Enjoy Dude is definitely a ballhawk but is it just me or does he appear to shy away from tackling? He either seems to lower his shoulder or get completely pushed out of the play. Quote:Dude is definitely a ballhawk but is it just me or does he appear to shy away from tackling? He either seems to lower his shoulder or get completely pushed out of the play. When I watched the game live I only watched it in spots and I didn't notice it but watching on Draft Breakdown it was pretty apparent. I like the fact that he caught 3 of the 4 he got his hands on but the aversion to contact is pretty concerning, in fact it's one of the worst possible qualities for a safety in my opinion. I would hate for them to pick him only to have to have him washout like Josh Gattis (Softy/Safety from Wake Forest) if you can remember that far back. I would like to see more of his games but he is apparently and unfortunately NOT a thumper! Quote:BC Game... EnjoyI came here just to post a YouTube link to this game. I don't know if it's the full 9'minutes but if he's on the Jaguars next year, there will be a lot of angry fans and "fire Caldwell" by game 6. Especially if he's a round 1 guy. He just doesn't look like a willing tackler. He was able to get some good breaks on a few bad balls thrown by Tyler Murphy. I don't know if this is the guy you want if you're looking for a safety Particularly 4:05 and 6:40 is what's painful to watch (for me at least). Mind you, I'm judging off one game. Ballhawk for sure though... But if some of you don't like Cyp... Oh boy We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Lol, I don't see what was so hard to watch other than he likes to put his shoulder down and hit with it other than wrap up a lot of times. When he adds some weight and strength lowering his shoulder might not be so bad in certain situations, you have to wrap the ball carrier up sometimes though too Quote:you watched the one YouTube clip and you're saying if we take the guy in the 1st fans will be saying fire Caldwell by game 6? One game or not. I watched this game by the way, not the Youtube clip alone. We will just have to agree to disagree, my man. I'm sure he will be a good football player. But a lot of what people complain about with Cyp, I feel they'll find some of the same faults from Holliman. I'll look out for him, though. Hopefully McCourty can be picked up in free agency.

Holliman and Landon Collins have the same amount of tackles at 31 and have 6 less tackles than Prewitt at 37.
I had to watch another game to see if he is scared of contact.
I wouldn't say he fears contact but he does not crave contact. They like to call him Ed Reed but he does not appear to have Reed’s heart Warning, my descriptions should not be taken as gospel and some of my descriptions may not be entirely accurate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=37m50s Separates ball from WR (3rd Down) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=43m40s Pick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=51m35s Separates ball from WR (3rd Down) Forced Fumble Recovered by Offense http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=57m10s Pick #2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=80m20s Arm Tackle on RB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=87m5s WIFF! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=94m5s Gets Held… The Rodeo Arm is Hard to Miss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=99m32s Hits the ball carrier head on, stops forward progress, did not wrap up and someone else cleaned up the mess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=128m55s Sheds block to get tackle/strong assist http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDFgIDdwp9E&t=134m19s One of the worst tackle attempts EVER *** Other plays that he was involved in were more like gang tackles or clean up, except one where he got the tackle but because of an error on the commercial break you couldn't see it develop only the RB going to the ground on top of him. My Meaningless Observations: ** Never once was there a form tackle or any sort of wrapping up, more or less the Reggie Nelson bump. The only two punishing blows (not very punishing but well timed) were to the back of the WR. He did dislodge the ball both times so I guess it worked Clearly involved with getting people in to the right positions and is seen as a leader on the defense. Seemed to have good speed and covered the entire field staying in stride with WRs going deep. He gets blocked pretty easily sometimes, especially around the line of scrimmage but he is usually playing center field. Quote:I had to watch another game to see if he is scared of contact.[/size] This is more or less how I feel about Holliman. Does a lot right and a lot well, but there's a lot to be desired with him. Good player, I just wouldn't take him in the first. Id take Collins and Prewitt before I touch Holliman. If he ends up in teal, I'd root for his success and progress. I think the FS class is rather weak this year. Thank you for your fair evaluation!
I'm looking forward to seeing him vs Notre Dame next week. Question for those of you who have watched him, how does he compare to Sean Taylor in college. Similar measuables, how does his game compare?

ST could of been one of the best ever Does it seem to be an issue of technique or one of toughness? Is he an unwilling tackler or just a bad tackler? Quote:Does it seem to be an issue of technique or one of toughness? Is he an unwilling tackler or just a bad tackler? Honestly not sure but it's certainly bad technique. With all his shortcomings.... I Still Like This Player! Intrigued by his Potential? Maybe He had a shoulder injury that got him a medical redshirt so maybe that is why he is hesitant to be an aggressive tackler. While he was being recruited out of Miami he was considered one of the hardest hitters in FL. Maybe his ability to thump people and have them fall led to him never learning the fundamentals of tackling. People compare him to Ed Reed and he might cover like Ed Reed but he tackles more like Deion Sanders. Vs FSU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI08k51nOV0&t=7m43s He comes up to tackle… Totally Stops, Sets his fee, Turns his head, Lowers his shoulder and braces for impact. He does not initiate contact Vs FSU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI08k51nOV0&t=24m51s He meets Karlos Williams head on at the 5 yard line and it looks like he is making a good tackle but NOPE Just before contact he sets his feet, lowers his head (closes his eyes, prays for help) and braces for contact. While he does at least grab the guys waist and take him to the ground but it aint impressive. Again, not initiating contact or exploding through the ball carrier Here is an article on him. http://www.footballinsiders.com/gerod-ho...breakdown/ Lots of Info
