The NFL’s recently formed advisory panel, which helps to identify potential minority coaching candidates, already is advocating the candidacy of Louisville’s Charlie Strong and Stanford’sDavid Shaw, league sources told ESPN.


It will be an upset if Strong is not a leading candidate for various NFL head coaching openings this winter. There already is speculation swirling in select league circles that Strong and Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who is projected to be one of the top picks in next year’s draft, could wind up reuniting in the NFL next season.


If Strong and Bridgewater end up on with same team in the NFL, it would be similar to the current situations in Indianapolis, where the Colts hired Pep Hamilton to serve as Andrew Luck’s offensive coordinator, and Miami, where Mike Sherman was hired as an offensive coordinator for Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

That might be accurate if we're talking about Tampa Bay having the #1 overall pick as Schiano is done. 

 

I would rather just keep Bradley if Strong is the only other option. Strong coached horribly in the UCF game and IMO also has run a stupid offense for most of the year often overusing his running game even against good run defenses despite having the best QB in the nation.

Louisville didn't lose the UCF game because of Strong's coaching or play callings. They had a three TDs lead, and the momentum shift immediately after their offense (or was it special team) turned the ball over. Football is a momentum game, after all, and the moment a team gained momentum over their opponents, their chances of winning increases both their offense and defense play better. It happens every week in the NFL.


I'm not trying to advocate Strong, but I think he's one of those coaches who instill discipline to his team. Realistically, Caldwell won't fire Bradley and hire Strong if he becomes available. This is Bradley's "intern" season. But I don't be upset or dissapointed if Strong hypothetically becomes the head coach of this team with TB under center.

i wouldnt really call it much of an upset. People that know college football knew UCF had a great chance to beat Louisville

As DC here, yeah, that might work. He can't be any worse than Babich thats for sure. Babich has been terrible at DC even with the Bears and that team actually had talent, too.
