Muschamp is gone!

Quote:He also had great defenses on those teams as well. Let me ask ya, do you think Alabama has more offensive players in the NFL or defensive players? That young inexperienced QB was able to win games with Muschamp as coach so I guess another defensive minded coach won't hurt him. The young inexperienced quarterback did nothing but hand the ball off. UF virtually abandoned the pass altogether after switching to him. So no, he did not win games. The running backs and defense did. Florida needs a coach who knows a lot about developing young inexperienced quarterbacks into above average passers. We show less advertisements to registered users. Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Muschamp IS a great DC, as proven by the great defense we've had. That'd be a marginally good hire at best. Muschamp also had good recruiting until it was realized he was turning the team into a landfill. You even mentioned Alabama's QB's, like seriously? Dude come on man, Alabama always has a full NFL caliber offensive line, 1-2 (or more) RB's able to make the big play at any time, and usually at least 1-2 good receivers (Cooper set nearly all the team records this year btw) and yet they've never had a world beater at QB. They have game managers that don't turn the ball over. That coupled with their amazing defense and top 2-3 recruiting class every year, gives Kirby Smart a pretty easy job. No thanks. I'd be willing to bet you can put Muschamp at Bama in place of Smart and they wouldn't miss a step.

Quote:Finally getting the point. Took longer than I expected. You have no idea what you are talking about if you think I was not getting the point just because I know the Gators need an offensive coordinator.

I rarely ever agree with JW, but she's dead on in this thread. Did you watch the games Harris played in? Look at how many passing yards he had in each game. I think he had was it 50 or 60 yards passing yesterday? Against SC's terrible defense? 2nd sentence was to Eye of The Storm, not you JW.

Quote:I rarely ever agree with JW, but she's dead on in this thread. He also ran for nearly a 100. If you guys are fine with the Gators being the 3rd or 4th best team in the East so be it. But if Smart gets a HC job somewhere and does well......

Quote:Mark Dantonio My only issue with bringing him to Gainesville is he has no history with the SEC. Does he know what it takes to win in that conference? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

He'll never leave Alabama. But I'd definitely watch him to see what happens if he went somewhere else. If we had an offensive minded coach right now that was doing absolutely terrible, then I'd definitely consider him. We've had multiple QB's over the past few years, and they've all been complete garbage under this coaching staff, no matter who is changed out where as far as assistant coaches go. Leave the DC if possible (everyone knows HC's want their own coaches) and fill everything out with offensive minded coaches. Edit: Yeah Harris did run the ball, but you're not going to be best in the SEC if you can't pass it. I'd take a world beater at WR like Amari Cooper who can carry the team if it means just having a game manager at QB but still winning the games we should/need to be.

He came to Florida and our offense is 61st in the country. Maybe it's the terrible recruiting over the last 3 years finally catching up to them? I hear Smart is a great recruiter....

Muschamp WAS a good recruiter the first couple of years he was here. He fell off big time over the last year or so because everyone saw the direction the program was going. Also to be fair, Demarcus Robinson and Ahmad Fulwood at WR were both I'm pretty sure 4 star receivers and were suppose to come in and do really good. Robinson as doing good this year, but geez man if he had someone decent throwing the ball to him or better playcalling or whatever it takes, he could look a lot better. He had a 200+ yard receiving game early in the year. edit: I think the offensive line was doing real bad at the beginning of the year when he got his 200+ yards. Run blocking I mean.

I really don't buy too much into star ratings because recruits are unknown until they start playing. I want the Gators to pick someone with a track record of success no matter the HC experience. Being unranked for almost 2 years and having to wonder if we are going to be bowl eligible is getting real old real fast.

I think a lot can be told about who they play against in high school though. If you're a 5 star playing against mostly 3 star players, what does that say. I'll take anyone that brings this program back to success, I just can't see them taking a current OC/DC again. If they do, I'll do what I always do and give them a chance and hope they work out more than ok.

I don't love them because they are a good team or a bad team, I love them because their MY team. I wanted either Chris Peterson or Kirby Smart when we hired Muschamp. I would have to think at this point either one of them would have been better than Muschamp. Hopefully Foley makes the right choice or his job could be in jeopardy.

I'd be all for Kirby Smart.
But for some reason, I think Foley is going to go after Lane Kiffin.

I hope UF finds the right guy...lol tired of hearing all my friends go crazy about the coach!
