Muschamp is gone!
|
Quote:I hear ya brother. I've been a die-hard Gator fan since the 0-10-1 team of 79'. I've seen us at our worst and best. I don't love them because they are a good team or a bad team, I love them because their MY team. I wanted either Chris Peterson or Kirby Smart when we hired Muschamp. I would have to think at this point either one of them would have been better than Muschamp. Hopefully Foley makes the right choice or his job could be in jeopardy. Wow I definitely haven't been watching that long! Born in 85 and started watching around 92 or 93. The parents of my best friend growing up in the early years got me into the Gators, they have had season tickets every year even before 92/93 since I started watching and they still have them to this day. They have Gators pictures and news articles framed all over their house. I've been a huge fan ever since. I've been to Gators games and Jags games with them many times.

Next Gators coach is Tim Tebow. He will inspire the team to win because you will never see a coach push the team like he would.

I'm the only member of my family born here being my dad was in the Navy and my sister was born in Virginia. Chris Collinsworth was one of my favorite players because his last name was close to mine. My father kinda instilled in me that Gainesville being the closest school to where I was born just made sense to root for them. I remember that season as the losses were piling up my dad saying "if they ever get the right coach, he'll awake a sleeping giant". Well Pell turned out to be dirty. Hall had to pay for the sins of Pell (although Hall wasn't bad just couldn't overcame NCAA sanctions). Then everyone knows the story from there; Spurrier awoke the giant. Watching them go from the basement to the mountain tops is the single most fulfilling thing to me as a fan. That our first title came at the expense of FSU was like sweet hot chocolate on a cold winter night. :-)

Quote:Please, please go after Lane Kiffin. Good recruiter but he's an awful head coach.i think a lot of his issues with head coaching have come from him just not being ready to lead a team. immaturity. idk if he is ready for another head coaching job, especially of this magnitude, but i can say that im sure he is learning a lot from saban. hes a great football mind and a good recruiter too. if the discipline is there, could wind up being a great hire.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:I hope Kirby Smart is the lead candidate. No thank you I want an experienced offensive coach The last two inexperienced defensive coaches, Zook and Muschamp were bust The last two offensive coaches Spurrier and Meyer championships, plus Meyer was an experienced coach when hired Dan Mullen and Bob Stoops my top two

Of course this happens on the Jag's bye week. One Sunday without that rambling wreck that is the stuttering steeler was apparently too much to ask for.

Quote:No thank you I've heard Mullen isn't liked by Gator boosters.
Quote:Wow. I could avoid prison by having the rest of the Gator boosters burn Gainesville to the ground for me. :-) No kidding!!!

I'm not going to rain on the parade for all you die hard gatas, but I'll just say that I'm sad to see Muschamp go.

Not everyone is suited to be a HC, particularly at a big time school. Muschamp was all defense all the time, and that affected outcomes. Yesterday was a perfect example. They had a shot to open the game up, numerous times and stayed with the power and counter, and the Q power/counter, and an occassional Q play to the edge. No one can say for certainty that it was Muschamp handcuffing Roper. If it was Roper staying with that, then shame on Muschamp for letting it happen. It always comes back to him. If I had to bet though, Muschamp definitely handcuffed his OC's and what they called.

UF wants the Fun N Gun or Spread not whatever you call Muschamp's offensive tendencies. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Then the winning stopped and it got worse. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:I wish we could keep him as the DC I wouldn't mind that either...but I can't see him taking a back seat once he's had the big office.

Quote:I wish we could keep him as the DC Gators fans are running him out of town. I don't think people who chanted "Fire Muschamp!" at the homecoming game would be happy with a demotion to DC instead of an outright dismissal. |
