The Best Part of the Gators Loss to USC?

(This post was last modified: 11-21-2014, 12:06 PM by jtmoney.)

Quote:I wish I could pull those threads....there were FSU fans that wanted Tebow here. Myself, and even Trav were hardcore against it and there are "1000's" of threads to prove it.

Again, and I'm not sure why this is hard to understand....if we didnt draft Bortles and Jameis wasn't a complete idiot, there would be a similar push from FSU fans to bring him to Jax. Do you disagree with this? Of course you will....

FSU fans are just as bad as UF fans ever have been. There are "1000's" of threads here to prove it.
You are talking about a small minority. The majority were gator fans. No, there would not be a similar push. You honestly believe that? It went on for years after the draft. Years. It's like you guys are trying to rewrite history or something or are embarrassed by what happened with the fan base. It turned cult like on here with Tebow crazies. Either y'all have memories of a gold fish or you are purposefully trying to change history. It happened whether you want to believe it or not and no other fan base has done that with a player. None.

Don't say you guys....I was not one of those guys.  I'm not trying to change anything....there were crazy Gator fans that wanted Tebow, and there are crazy FSU fans here that are just as nuts.  There is a thread here where many wanted Jameis gone from the program because they were fed up......all the sudden you are back to being hardcore.

Btw, I like that you responded to Achilles and Bullseye comments on the national championship from last year...but when someone acknowledges and agrees with you, you glaze over that because it doesn't fit your hate for Florida fans.

edit:  Bullseye, not Hurricane

Edit:  Arkansas fans went nuts for Matt Jones.  To say it wont happen again is a joke.

Again, my opinion, and you can disagree all you want...is that the same thing would have happened with Jameis if the chips fell correctly. Unfortunately we drafted a first round qb and he is an idiot...so it wont be proven.

Yes there are crazy FSU fans, I'm not denying that. I'm saying no fan base has pushed a player on another fan base like gator fans. None. You can argue whether one is more annoying then the other, fine. But no fan base has done what the gators did with tebow. And that was a huge reason why they were so annoying.

The cult like craze was more from people who had no affiliation with the Gators, were there some, absolutely, but that cult like feel was from people who were not fans of football, the Gators, etc. The noise from there only amplified what was going on with the Gators winning. I get that.

They did, but it was not even close to tebow. No where near the same galaxy. We still get threads about how the Jags need to get tebow even now.

Maybe this is what you are missing. There will be fans who love a player and will have fans of said player. There will be annoying fans. I'm not disputing this. I'm saying we have never seen what the gators did with tebow in college history.

That is definitely not true. I have a lootttt of gator fan friends and I can tell you the majority gator crazies. I listen to a ton of 1010 and 930 and again the majority of Tebow crazies were gator fans. The calls were non stop. Prosser was pushing it to the inth degree. Our very own boards were filled with gator fans for years. Yes, there were plenty of other non gator affiliated gator fabs, but no fan base has done that with a player like the gators. I'm not sure we are even disputing this.

You keep emphasizing Gators. The country had an infatuation with the Tebow craze, not just Gator fans. The Tebow fans who weren't Gator fans far outweighed those who were. It was across the country. It wasn't just the local news with a Tebow story every hour, it was national. There's a reason.

Quote:I thought Alabama was better too. They were one crazy play away from the title game but the point remains that last years FSU team was much stronger than this year.

The defense lost a lot of senior leadership.

Quote:No it could not be that Auburn blew the game. They completely outplayed FSU. The special teams were terrible for Auburn and if the safety for FSU could have tackled they would have never got the ball. Robinson had 2 holding calls that changed the game from a rout to a close game.

Other than that a FSU win and congratulations. That was a outstanding Auburn team.

I suppose you forgot about Auburn cheating by stealing signals in the first half right?

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

I'm talking about the gator fan base and tebow. I've already said there are other fans. Again this does not take away my point that no other fan base has pushed a player on another fan base like gator fans. Just because there were other fans of Tebow it doesn't make my point any less valid.

And you wonder why I tried to keep my argument about the board itself.

How about this. What other player was pushed by a fan base as much or more then tebow? Can I get any other non bias opinions here?

I never disagreed that some Gator fans did. Every fan base would with a player like that in their program. Seeing it now with FSU fans.

The fact still remains that the vocal people around the country with no Gator fandom ties pushed this as hard or harder then the Gator fans. Those people far outnumbered Gator fans. Country, verse a faction of fans.

Tebow was probably the first for a variety of reasons. Social media, a country wide love affair with the person, not necessarily the player, etc.

Some gator fans? Really? Come on trav now you are just being delusional.

I can promise you there will not be 100's of jaguars must draft Jameis thread or I won't by tickets on this board. It isn't the same. You aren't seeing anywhere near what it was with tebow.

Okay, you can justify it, I'm just saying that no other fan base has pushed a player like tebow on another fan base like gator fans. Whether you want to give reasons for it or not is fine. That isn't my point.

That only took like 3 years to get that out of you.

You're right. The country wide infatuation for Tebow had nothing to do with it. It was all Gator fans. All the love and push came from Gator fans. Even though those who were not Gator fans, simply fans of the person, far outweighed the Gator fans themselves. I agree. Not to mention it was a vocal minority with the push itself from Gator fans. You are correct. I agree 100% now.

I never said it was all gator fans. And I keep repeating that. Why in the world would a up north tebow fan push tebow on the Jags? They weren't and that is my point. Most of them were gator/tebow fans pushing tebow on the Jags and I've never seen anything like it.
