To be fair JDR had some decent talent to work with from the start and a couple of gamechangers. Freddie T was no slouch.

Th idea of handing the ball off to mojo was also excellent head coach decision. Man, that Del Rio was sharp as a tack to think of that one.

Well Gus has stepped in and improved the Defense, unfortunately that is all that has happened.  I just don't know anymore.  Good for a defensive coordinator not so much for a Head Coach.  It is like Del Rio 2.0

I like how we accept as gospel that the defense is improved.  Last I've checked we've allowed the most points in the league and are ranked 30th in yards allowed.  Just saying.

Such is the life of a Jaguar fan. We already have people complaining we let JDR walk, it would be just our luck for him to latch on with another team and for him lead that team to the promise land.

He is a gem...but he's your evidence to forgive that the first 3 picks of the Jags in 2013 are huge question marks at best?

Ok, so let's be positive...


We have too many young players, so we are being outclassed on offense. We have a rookie qb that requires our offense to run heavy and on passing plays throw behind the sticks.


Because of these shortfalls we need to expect to be this bad. Next year, when our rookies are more experienced we will win 7 or 9 games, because players just get better over time irregardless of coaching. Coaches do not matter as much as time, time heals and fixes everything.


This is wishful thinking.


It is what some fans, rottenallltheseyears, hang their hopes on. But it's a pipe dream flawed by the reality of what we see on the field, and what statistically we see on paper.


News flash... You can be a fan of the jaguars and still see we are moving in the wrong direction

 



 

lol, I haven't even posted in this thread yet, but I didn't defend the coaching staff in the other thread(s) either.

 

Anything short of the winning 4 out the next 5, and I wouldn't be surprised to see any or all of our coaching staff gone this offseason. If Bradley doesn't fire the ST coach after this season is over regardless, I'll move from the "wait and see" group to the "wailing and gnashing of teeth" group, though I still probably won't start 100 different threads [BAD WORD REMOVED]-ing about this team.

 

Actually, after Bradley's recent comments about Bortles, I wouldn't be surprised if Caldwell starts looking for a new HC with anything less than Bradley winning out. Caldwell is tied to Bortles; he's not tied to Gus.

 

And if the rumors out of SF happen to be true and Harbaugh walks, and the Jags finish the rest of the season looking like they have the last two weeks, I'm not sure Bradley makes it to January as the HC.

 

News flash - rookies playing rookies is the rule, not the exception. I set my expectations accordingly. I consider a bunch of rookie and second-year players to be a factor and not an excuse. And yes, the rookies get to use the "rookie excuse" until they're no longer rookies (see CSIII and D-Rob). It used to be pretty common knowledge that it took most rookies 2-3 years to develop into competent starters. Now, because a handful of rookies come out every year and make an immediate impact (and even less carry that impact over into subsequent seasons), a bunch of "fans" act like the rookies should be playing like 1st ballot HOFers in their first 10 games. The problem is the expectations of said "fans", not the rookies doing rookie things.

So there's 1 coach? I really don't know which is why I'm asking. But if there is only 1 coach in all of history to start out this bad and end up being good then there should be no argument for sticking with Bradley.

I think back to his first game where the Jaguars were completely outmatched by the Chiefs and had no business even being on the same field as them. 27 games later, nothing has changed.

 

Nothing.

 

The Jags scored exactly 2 points in that Chiefs game.

 

27 games later they scored exactly 3 points.

 

Not exactly the progress they and the rest of us were hoping for, now is it?
