Some folks are probably just trying to get a rise out of you. Others are just jerks. People are people and their motivations for what they do are known and make sense only to them.


Don't overthink it. It's not worth the time and effort. When I was on here many years ago I used to let folks get under my skin. Not intentionally, but I am a sensitive natured person and wonder why we all can't just get along, even with different opinions. The hate that used to exist here almost got the board shut down. I never could, and still can't, understand why folks get so ugly with those who don't agree with them. But that is just how people are and I use the ignore feature on here to filter those I absolutely cannot tolerate. Otherwise, live and let live.

People are still insulting each other on here. It will continue as long as there is a message board. But the fact that other people do it does not give anyone the right to follow suit. The No More TV campaign can be applied to what you are talking about, not just the specific crime it is aiming to stop. What you are saying is "boys will be boys," which is the first unacceptable excuse in one of those public service announcements.  Board members need to think about that one and remember just being who they are does not give them the right to make me mad on purpose even if they hate me.

I never said it was right, I just said it is the way it is. You can't change people or try to force them to be someone else.

JDub, you should start worrying when people don't acknowledge you at all.


An old rule in football is that you are in pretty good standing with your coach/es when they yell at you, stay on your back, keep pressure on etc. It's when they stop doing that is when you should worry. Very true.

Look JDub, JW, JaguarsWoman or whatever you want to call yourself.  Nobody hates you.  I would wager that most people (myself included) use the nickname "JDub" as a term of endearment when addressing you.  Even FBT with his cat references does so in a friendly and light-hearted way.  It is by no means to insult you.  Yes it is teasing, but sometimes people that like each other tease each other.  It's not meant to be mean, it's quite the opposite.  It's simply so that a group of people that "know" each other, even on a message board, can "play" with one another and have fun.  Don't ever take anything personal.

 

For me personally, if I ever get the chance to meet you in person whether it's at a Jaguars game, Jaguars function of some sort or otherwise, I would be happy to buy you a drink of your choice and sit and just talk for a while.
