Quote:Lol why can't you? Do all players suck within the first 2 years? No, no, no - there are so many more better candidates.

Quote:We'll I'm sold... Quote:Lol why can't you? Do all players suck within the first 2 years? I disagree. Just because I have a different opinion than you and I look at the situation from a different perspective it doesn't mean I'm an idiot. There are too many cases players break out in their 3rd/4th/5th years to justify calling a rookies busts in their 2nd year, (which is still not even finished by the way). But you can come off as condescending, and sometimes rude-arrogant. You can't make a definitive statement like you did with no supporting reasons and expect the jungle to accept your opinions as dogma. I suggest taking the time and explaining your thoughts. Are you saying there are no examples of rookies taking time and breaking out after their first 2/3 years in the league? I shouldn't have to explain that, that's more common football knowledge than anything. Quote:I think Bridgewater at 3 is better value than Mack at 3, yes. <div> LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Quote:Are you saying there are no examples of rookies taking time and breaking out after their first 2/3 years in the league? I gave the example of shoelace that looked bad his rookie year and has come on strong his second year. The point is there are also players like grabbert and others that suck in which waiting 3 years is a waste of time. The key is one cannot make a blanket statement and then believe everyone will agree with it as gospel. Quote:Lol, me too. After two years you have little impact. That is very concerning. But hey you can't judge non rookies bc it's ALWAYS too early around here. Just wait until "next year" to see what happens. It's always next year isn't it Tommy? I'm curious to test this theory if anyone is willing. Lets compare our 2013 and 2014 rookie class to 3 other teams who were in similar draft positions. Any suggestions?

Quote:Oakland 2013 I've never heard of any of those scrubs... I wonder if a raider fan would look at the jaguar picks and say the same thing
Quote:I've never heard of any of those scrubs... I wonder if a raider fan would look at the jaguar picks and say the same thing probably. Latavius Murray just had like a 90 yard TD run though

Just because I have a different opinion than you and I look at the situation from a different perspective it doesn't mean I'm an idiot. So you're not an idiot for having a different opinion, but anyone who doesn't share that opinion with you is a " dip " ( your words). Gotcha. Of course people can play better after their second year, but does that mean you turn down an upgrade for blind hope that someone will make the jump? Do we not draft a CB to compete/ start over Gratz just because he MIGHT turn out good next year?
Quote:probably. Oh yeah! Ok I say that play. He's pretty fast Quote:So you're not an idiot for having a different opinion, but anyone who doesn't share that opinion with you is a " dip " ( your words). Never said that. I fully expect them to draft a CB this year. I don't expect people to call these players, "busts" when they haven't even finished their 2nd season. It's hilarious. Some of it was self-inflicted though. Caldwell let go of the few good vets we had on the team.

Keyshawn Johnson spoke about the 3 year window last Sunday. He related that Parcells took him aside after the draft and told him that the rookie year is a freebie, year two should show progress and then year three he expected Johnson to play like the Pro Bowler his draft position warranted.
But people on this board know better than Bill Freaking Parcells what kind of timetable rookies need to develop. ![]() “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
