Looking forward to seeing it. I liked them all except the one where they ended up in San Diego.

you're not much younger than me, you never saw Jurassic Park growing up? I think it was the first PG13 movie I saw as a kid.

That being said, looks kinda cool.

Do yourself a favor and go watch the first Jurassic Park, you won't be disappointed.

Quote:If a critic says a movie is either good or bad, its usually the opposite.

I disagree.  I think a lot of slower/deeper movies get lost on the masses.  My favorite critic was Roger Ebert.  I disagreed with him a good amount of times, but he had a way with words and picked up on things in movies that I sometimes missed.  I love reading his reviews and sad we won't have any new ones.

See that's the problem right there.. They do get lost with the masses. Movie critics need to keep the mass population in mind while critiquing these films, not their wine and cheese eating friends..

Ehhh, don't agree.  If you think a movie is good then say it is good.

And that's what they're doing, they're telling the mass population what they think is good, while the general mass population probably doesn't care about some foreign film that revolves around a weird bulimic chick who's protesting Parliament..

As mass population goes, they want it dumbed down to their level. They want scary, sex, vulgar comedy and Disney.. It's what sells in the box offices.

Although Slumdog was good.. One of the few they got right, I think..

I've watched many amazing foreign films.  Anyways, if you don't care what the critics think then read user reviews.

Again, reviews are just opinions.  What you think is good may not be good to me.  It is okay to disagree.

That's exactly what I do is read the user reviews. Most of the time, the user reviews completely differ from the critic's view, and that tells me that these critics aren't really trying to appeal to the average movie goer.

Or that they have a lot more experience watching movies then the average movie goer.  A critic is going to look at things differently.

There are many movies that the critics and users both like.  There are other movies that critics love and users hate and visa versa.  Anyways, go on rotten tomatoes.  I think you'll be surprised how much the critics and users agree.

I agree. RT is usually where I go now. Seems like most of the critics there don't smoke crack while eating marshmallow pies..

Quote:Yea I was really excited until I saw the trailer, I was hopping the rumors of bio-engineered smarter dinosaurs was fake but it looks like that's what they went with. Also read a rumor the main character had trained raptors to fight the bio-dino with him, I REALLY hope that's not what we are seeing on the bike and raptor scene.
They had genetically engineered in the original. They're just going with the times I suppose  :woot:

I was a huge Jurassic Park fan. Loved the book and movies. I will have to catch this and see what it's got.

Without a doubt I plan on going to 4 movies next year Jurassic World, Star Trek ( I'm pretty sure one's coming out next year?), Star Wars, and Avengers Movie.

looking at that list I'm a big dork but it's ok.

I saw the first Jurassic Park because my wife made me. It was sooooo over the top fiction it was hard to sit through it. But then I'm just that way with movies...............ie it has to be real or funny or it doesn't keep me interested.

I was never really into comics, and I never saw the individual marvel comic movies but I saw the first Avengers movie and loved it. So good.
