Yeah the whole thing felt rushed, they should have just said she was eaten by the cannibals instead of this weak storyline.  I still don't know what her beef was with the female cop, I mean once she killed Cpt. Rapey there was no reason to be angry at her.

I think she was angry because deep down she knew that the cop was just a bad person all around.

This. The fact that Dawn allowed things to happen doesn't make her any better than the folks doing it. That's why Beth didn't like or trust her. And that Dawn kept her prisoner for all intents and purposes.

I agree. She also let those things happen because she thought it was allowing her to keep the power she thought she had.

It even still seems off because of the group she was running with, the whole "necessary evil" thing should have been evident already.  So they save her (according to them I didn't watch the 4th season) from zombies or whatever, they patch her up, they let her kill mr rapey with no consequence, they help Carol even though they had no reason to, and she's upset because they want her to mop the floors for some food?     

 

As far as the prisoner thing, Dawn or whatever her name is made it sound like people "escape" all the time but always just end up coming back.  Everybody hates Chris was gone like a day and almost gets killed, so of course they come back the world outside sucks.  Like I said the whole thing seemed contrived, just her walking up to stab Dawn seemed goofy and out of place imo

I guess if the time had come for another cast member to get axed, Beth was the best choice. I wasn't happy about it, but really where was her story going to go? She already peaked with her episode with Daryl. Kind of awkward on the Talking Dead when she was literally in tears sitting right next to the guy who killed her off! Oopsie.

I'm not overly excited about the return of Morgan either. They're going to need another "villian" here soon and I'm wondering if it may be him? He was pretty nutty the last time they had him on the show.

 

During the Talking Dead, the writer mentioned the second half really having a different feel and the show as a whole changing. I've not read the comics, but I'm really intrigued about them at least moving on to another set-of-wood somewhere other than GA.

I think it's going to really hurt Daryl because they got close when out on the road together and I think he sees himself as her big brother. I am looking forward to what Norman Reedus will bring to the table with his scenes.

 

Maggie being so upset almost seems disingenuous because we never got to see her grieve the supposed death of her sister. Like- at all- which I thought was jacked up. There didn't need to be an episode about it or even a big deal made of it. Just a few scenes here and there that would remind us that Daryl wasn't the only one who cared that she was gone.

All of his charm comes from his potty mouth, it cant be Negan without a few swears every time he speaks, or him talking where he will put his dick.  Don't want to give more away in case they decide to closely follow that storyline (since apparently they are casting Negan).

 

I don't think the hunters were that bad, they played a seemingly minor role on the show as they did in the books.  They tamed to governor quite a bit and made his storyline boring imo, hopefully they dont do the same this time around.   

 

I will say around this time the show should be getting a lot better, and despite the Beth plot it has been a pretty solid season thus far.

In fact it was season 3 that got me to read the comics, wanted to see if they were as bad as the product on the tv.

During the Talking Dead, Kirkman was talking about how people thought Daryl might be gay and then he said they would be introducing a gay character from the comics in the second half of season five. Can anyone here who reads the comics give any insight on this character? Is he or she a major character or a supporting character?

There are two gay characters that act as scouts for another group Aaron and Eric.  They're both supporting characters more or less.  Then again they could change it because some people that are alive died long ago, and someone like Andrea is still alive and plays a pretty large role, not to mention the fact they're supposed to be in the DC area.

It's on going, he does an ask the writer and editor type of deal in the back of each issue, and he sounds like he'll be doing it for awhile until he and the fans get bored of it.  Though I do believe he said he knows how it will end.
